Job ID
73304
Category

Location
Chihuahua City, Mexico
Work Type
On-site
We are looking for a Machining Maintenance Process Coach (Machining PCM) with a strong shop-floor leadership mindset and deep hands-on electromechanical expertise. You will be the on-shift operational leader responsible for maximizing the technical uptime of 4- and 5-axis CNC machining cells, directly leading a specialized crew of unionized technicians (Skilled Trades: electromechanical technicians, CNC/controls technicians, and precision millwrights/machinists). Your mission is to guarantee zero accidents through LOTO/ZES protocols, drive down Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and ensure the disciplined execution of the preventive and predictive maintenance plan (TPM / Maximo).
  • Safety Leadership and Hazardous Energies (LOTO / ZES): Act as the uncompromising on-shift authority to ensure no intervention on machining centers, hydraulic presses, robotic cells, or chip conveyors occurs without verifying a Zero Energy State (ZES) and applying personal lockout/tagout (LOTO).
  • Rapid Response and MTTR Reduction: Command immediate response to Andon alerts and line stoppages across CNC machining centers (Grob, Heller, Makino, Comau) and automatic transfer lines, rapidly troubleshooting root causes alongside specialized technicians.
  • Technical Crew Leadership and Management (Skilled Trades): Direct, organize, and develop the shift’s unionized maintenance technicians (electromechanical technicians, mechanics, and CNC/PLC specialists), equitably distributing work orders while fostering a workplace culture of respect, fairness, and strict adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Maintenance of Critical Machining Subsystems:
    • CNC Kinematics and Spindles: Diagnose alarms involving servomotors, drives, encoders, optical linear scales, high-speed spindles, and automatic tool changers (ATC).
    • Proportional Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and service hydraulic power units (HPUs), servovalves, and clamping cylinders for workholding fixtures (3-2-1 locating and clamping sequence).
    • Coolant Delivery and Filtration: Maintain high-pressure through-spindle coolant (TSC) pumps, tramp oil skimmers, and chip/swarf conveyors.
    • Automation and Gantry Systems: Troubleshoot gantry loaders, rotary index transfer tables, and industrial robots (Fanuc/KUKA) feeding the CNC machines.
  • Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Execution (PM / PdM): Manage and audit the completion of work orders within IBM Maximo, capitalizing on operational windows (tool changeovers, meal breaks, or planned downtime) to carry out centralized lubrication, geometric alignment checks, and critical consumable replacements.
  • Spare Parts and Asset Management: Oversee the checkout and tracking of high-precision spare parts from the Tool Crib (replacement spindles, ABEC 7/9 precision bearings, Moog/Bosch Rexroth servovalves) and manage returns for repair, rebuilding, or warranty claims.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a Professional License (Cédula Profesional) in Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Work Experience:
    • 3 to 5+ years of experience in automated industrial plant maintenance, with at least 2 years supervising or coordinating specialized technical personnel.
  • Essential Technical Knowledge:
    • CNC and Control Systems: Fault diagnosis on industrial numerical controllers, with a strong focus on Siemens Sinumerik 840D (Sinamics S120 drive alarms, NCU/PCU) and/or Fanuc 30i/31i Series.
    • Industrial Hydraulics and Pneumatics: Advanced interpretation of proportional hydraulic schematics and fast-acting pneumatic circuits.
    • Precision Mechanics: Practical mastery of axis geometric alignment, ball screw backlash, linear guideway preload, and tool turret/magazine calibration.
    • Industrial Safety: Thorough command of LOTO protocols, confined spaces, and electrical safety standards under NFPA 70E.
  • Language Proficiency: English B2–C1–C2.
