This role will help ensure Cash equivalent and Marketable securities balances were reported correctly in FN and 10K/10Q filing there on. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting, a good understanding of investment portfolios, and hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience to support Ford’s reporting and accounting activities.
Responsibilities
- Support quarterly and annual FN preparation of Auto Marketable securities in line with corporate reporting timelines.
- Prepare and report Cash equivalent and Marketable securities schedules as per the format recommended for 10K/10Q filing.
- Perform month end balance checks and perform adjustment entries wherever applicable.
- Work closely with trading team, treasury operations and state street contacts (external parties) in case of any discrepancies in the numbers reported.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journals, reconciliations, and month-end/quarter-end close tasks.
- Use SAP S/4HANA, Group reporting to download reports for all Auto BUs together and work on the fluctuation explanation QoQ and YoY.
- Handle internal and external audits for any queries related to Marketable securities schedules and reports.
- Support process design, testing, automation, and system improvements in S/4HANA.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, Ford accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and present variance analysis, and management reporting packs.
- Coordinate with External Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Internal Audit on reporting matters.
- Support accounting research and documentation for new transactions or organizational changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve and standardize consolidation and reporting processes.
- Professional accounting qualification required, such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting.
- Experience in investment accounting and cash accounting is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with management reporting, foot note preparation and variance explanation.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting, month-end close, reconciliations
- Practical SAP S/4HANA experience, including Group Reporting, General Ledger, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently with finance teams and senior management (Controller and CFO).
- Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial reporting tools such as SAP Group Reporting or Hyperion.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx.
