Service & Synergy Buyer report to the IMG Purchasing Manager, support the initiatives established by the Purchasing Managers, and are responsible for supply base development, maintenance, performance and quality excellence, part cost and contract negotiations, competitive market testing, parts packaging, sourcing, and critical parts availability resolution. This position is responsible for all the markets across the IMG region. In addition, position is responsible for Purchasing related activities for Warranty and Field Service Action within IMG.

Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position

  1. To source better parts price with same quality via current suppliers and find out alternative supplier(s) if current supplier can’t be able to supply same quality products or can’t comply with parts team requirement. 
  2. Ensure New Model Launches are supported in order to meet the 98% parts availability target at J#1
  3. Be responsible for cost reduction initiatives for responsible suppliers and contribute to the overall IMG FCSD purchasing cost reduction target. Conduct market tests, participate in TVM’s and make use of cost estimators in order to keep the part price at the lowest level possible at any time.
  4. To evaluate and negotiate all price revision requests from supplier per compliance to Ford GTC, including Cost Reduction initiatives on both normal service parts and warranty/FSA parts.
  5. Support North America, European and other regional service part purchasing teams by identifying potential IMG suppliers for specific commodities and support the negotiation process and the PO placement.
  6. Maintain the sourcing contract for the responsible service parts. Support and improve the on-going supply performance of IMG suppliers.
  7. Maintain a close relationship with OE CFTs (Purchasing, STA, PD, Mfg) and PS&L/Warranty CFTs
  8. Proactively participate in cross functional projects (mainly PS&L) or multi-national teams (e.g., Purchasing processes across regions) as required by the business.
  9. Adhere to purchasing processes, stay in line with the levels of authority and ensure audit compliance.
  10. Liase w Warranty and Field Service action (IMG) for all activities related to warranty/FSAs and administer Purchasing action such as Direct sourcing initiatives whereas possible.

Education QualificationBachelor’s degree required, preferred in Engineering or Technical Discipline
No. of Years of Experience5+ yrs. work experience in Purchasing, preferred in the automotive industry will main preference in soft skill of program management.
Professional Exposure (Technical Skills)Familiarity with purchasing process and financial and/or purchasing software applications.  
Preferred previous experiencesExperience in any of the following is preferred: Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Program management.
Functional SkillsProven analytical ability, attention to detail, ability to work across matrix organization, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Behavioral Skills

Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills with capability to work independently. Team player.

Special Knowledge/ Skills Required

Excellent in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.

Strong negotiation skill.
