Responsibilities
Material Cost Analysis & Benchmarking
- Conduct internal and external material cost benchmarking against competitor vehicles to identify cost gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze component and system-level cost structures to support strategic sourcing and product cost competitiveness.
Cost Optimization
- Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, and Program teams to identify, evaluate, and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Track and monitor cost-saving initiatives and provide visibility into realized and projected savings.
Cost Management & Governance
- Manage, control, and reconcile vehicle Bills of Materials (BOMs) across Ranger and Everest programs, ensuring cost accuracy across all vehicle variants and trim levels.
- Maintain cost integrity and support governance processes throughout the product development lifecycle.
Budgeting & Investment Support
- Support the development, tracking, and auditing of program material cost and vendor tooling budgets.
- Monitor capital investment performance and ensure spending aligns with approved business objectives.
Change Management & Business Case Evaluation
- Assess proposed engineering design changes, supplier price updates, and cost reduction initiatives for financial impact.
- Prepare business cases, approval documentation, and decision-support materials for stakeholders.
- Track risks, opportunities, and potential cost impacts through established governance processes.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Review and validate cost assumptions, supplier agreements, and engineering estimates to ensure alignment across functions.
- Develop and maintain feature cost evolution analysis and vehicle cost reporting to track cost changes across markets and model years.
- Conduct profitability analysis, including Internal Rate of Return (IRR), return on investment, and net savings evaluations.
- Support annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reconciliation activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Present cost analysis, recommendations, and financial insights to program leaders and senior management.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support cost-related decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- MBA in Finance, CMA, CA
- 5+ years of experience in finance, product costing, automotive cost management, manufacturing finance, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), product costing, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of vehicle component costing and supplier pricing structures.
- Familiarity with profitability analysis, business case development, and investment evaluation techniques.
- Experience supporting vehicle development programs or manufacturing operations.
