Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer (GSR 7 / GSR 8), you will bring your 7 to 10 years of experience in Java Full Stack development to our dynamic team, focusing on building scalable and efficient solutions. Your role will center on microservices architecture, where you'll utilize your expertise in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot to drive backend innovation. Additionally, your experience with GCP cloud technologies, Kafka/Confluent event streaming, and Graph databases will be vital for deploying and managing robust, data-connected cloud-based applications. You will also apply Agentic AI development practices to build intelligent, autonomous capabilities into our applications. You will guide the development team in adopting best practices and cutting-edge technologies, playing a major role in the technical delivery of user stories planned in Sprints. Your leadership in Agile practices will be key, as you participate in and lead ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Retrospectives, and Demos. Your contributions will also include supporting effective release planning and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, while assisting in coordinating production support incidents and managing prioritization. Your role is pivotal in driving technical excellence across our development efforts, with a focus on creating a holistic full-stack development approach that aligns with our strategic goals.

Develop Java Microservices:Design and build robust Java microservices using Spring Boot for scalable and resilient backend solutions.

Deploy on GCP:Manage and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing tools like Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Functions for efficient cloud operations.

Ensure Code Quality:Implement coding standards and best practices to maintain high code quality and consistency.

Optimize Performance:Continuously improve application performance by reducing latency and enhancing throughput for both backend and frontend components.

Maintain Security:Implement security measures and conduct regular audits to ensure applications meet security and compliance standards.

Automate CI/CD Pipelines:Set up and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.

Troubleshoot and Debug:Identify and resolve technical issues, performing root cause analysis to maintain system reliability.

Collaborate with Technical Teams:Work closely with developers, architects, and IT operations to ensure smooth integration and deployment of new features.

Design Graph Data Models: Develop and optimize Graph database solutions to model complex relationships and enable efficient querying of connected data.

Drive Agentic AI Development: Design, build, and deploy agentic AI capabilities and autonomous agent workflows to enhance application intelligence and automate complex business processes.

Essential:

• 8+ years Software Engineering experience with current industry tooling
• Deep technical skills: Hands-on coding, debugging knowledge in Java,J2EE,Spring boot microservices, sql databases with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) for modeling, querying, and optimizing complex, connected data.
• Front end development - Experience in React would be a additional advantage
• Strong team leadership: Mentorship, code reviews, support.
• Proactive risk management: Identifying and mitigating technical risks.
• Delivery focus: Meeting sprint goals, high-quality code.
• Good command of Product Org Backlog management with associated tooling and best practices (Rally / Jira)
• Positive team attitude: Collaboration, knowledge sharing & Effective communication and ability to work in a large diverse team.
• Practical understanding / usage of version control systems (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD tools (Cloud Build, Tekton)
• Experience with Kafka / Confluent Kafka for building event streaming platforms, real-time data integration, and pub-sub messaging architectures.
• Practical experience in Agentic AI development, including building autonomous AI agents and AI-driven automation within enterprise applications.

Desired:

• Software engineering or development experience in a regulated, financial environment
• Demonstrated evidence of application of Ford Credit Security & Control practices / Ford ISP standards
• Understanding of current architecture standards and digital platform services strategy
• Experience working with and managing Senior Stakeholder expectations and delivering against a strategic road map within a product organization.
• Experience of coaching and mentoring software Engineers in Product Org practices and tools
• Experience managing Product Team metrics to improve performance and effectiveness.
• Experience of Software Engineering Craftmanship techniques and best practices

B.E / BTech in Computer Science with 7 to 10yrs of Experience in software development with Java/J2EE  with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP , Graph and Kafka.
