Description: Main purpose of the role, a general summary of what is done in this area. The main function of the New Programs area is to implement the new production models included in Ford Motor Co.'s Business Plan. One of the main activities expected for this position is to exercise leadership among cross-functional teams, to ensure that the activities established in the Launch system standards are met on time and as planned. The basic tools to be used are those included in GPDS and LQOS (which represent the standards and operating systems for the Launch of new programs).
The breakdown of key activities and specific functions this position will be responsible for. The main activities of this position include the daily documentation of the main metrics for the current program (CX430/P758 27MY, 27.5MY &28MY Launch). Every day, the Launch group meets to review metrics, key issues, work plans, and support required by each area. This person's role is to facilitate the meeting so that the group has a clear understanding of the program's health.
A second function will be to prepare, in Excel and with the help of the Parts system (OTG), the daily status of the parts changing in this Launch. This report includes the evolution and progress of production parts until they reach "Saleable" status (Phase 2 PPAP).
It is also expected that, when the parts to be assembled in pre-production events arrive at the Plant, they will be certified by the Engineers who release and design these parts. A third function will be to coordinate this activity and report on it to the Launch group.
Likewise, this person will help coordinate quality review activities for finished Pre-production products. This includes FCPA audits, Campaign prevention, and R202 Management (Quality Plan), as well as reporting results and documenting any issues found. Additionally, this person will lead the documentation required to ship these units to Ford's internal customers.
The technical skills and knowledge necessary to fill this position. We are looking for someone with an Engineering degree. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite — Excel, Word, PowerPoint — and general computer skills is required, as Ford's information systems require this ability. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to express themselves in English. The candidate should be a quick learner of operating systems and data management tools. Examples: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, etc.
