Structural CAE analysis specific to Automotive Closures and sheet metal, including NVH, Fatigue and non-linear Impact analyses. Knowledge of Closures interface components like seals, bumpers and wedges, as well as closures related hardware like hinges, latches and handles preferred. Work experience to develop and validate design countermeasures related to Closures, including systems engineering to solve complex Closures system level issues is desired. FMEA skills and experience necessary for Regulatory requirements and WCRs. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes related to design constraints.
- Perform CAE Analysis and provide issue resolution within the program deadlines
- 4 days on site in GTBC Ford México (Naucalpan, México)
- Develop CAE Models and plans to support program milestones
- Support resolution of functional issues within a cross-functional team
- Create CAE Engineering status reports and verify completeness and correctness of CAE Assessments
- Optimize the function and cost of forward model systems using CAE Tools
- Develop or improve current CAE methods and processes and incorporate them into program applications
- Lead cross-functional alignment between D&Rs in different functions to comply with the requirements
- Provide program design alternatives by running DOE CAE Studies.
- Support development of standards and methods
- Support ongoing improvement and automation of CAE process
- Develop and present reports to management as required.
- 2+ years of experience in Closures related CAE (preferred) or Structural CAE, with NVH, Durability and/or Fatigue CAE Analysis experience in Automotive or Aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of both Linear Static and Non-Linear Dynamic analyses, including impact FE analyses.
- Experience in meshing & postprocessing software like ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView and MetaPost.
- Experience in CAE analysis Software including Abaqus, Nastran, LS-Dyna, nCode, Optistruct, Hyperworks etc.
- Build and setup FE models, perform CAE iterative analyses to identify and resolve issues within design and time constraints.
- Verify accuracy and completion of CAE assessments and provide milestone Engineering Status Reports
- Utilize CAE DOE & Optimization Studies to identify design alternatives
