Cost Estimating (CE) is a function of Global Material Cost as part of Product Development.

Behind every vehicle that rolls off the line are a thousand decisions about cost, value, and efficiency, decisions that determine whether an idea becomes an affordable, profitable, world-class product.

We're looking for a Cost Engineer who doesn't just crunch numbers, but who sees the story behind them: the supplier negotiation that saved program millions, the material substitution that improved margin without compromising quality, the forecast that gave leadership the confidence to greenlight the next big launch.

What you'll do...

• Serve as the financial conscience of vehicle programs by developing, analyzing, and validating should-cost models, piece-part costing, and total cost of ownership analyses across components, systems, and full vehicle programs.
• Turn data into actionable decisions, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to uncover cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality, safety, or performance.
• Shape supplier strategy by building detailed cost breakdowns and benchmarking analyses that equip negotiators with the insight needed to secure the best value from the supply base.
• Challenge the status quo through competitive teardown and benchmarking studies, physically and analytically disassembling competitor vehicles and components to compare materials, manufacturing processes, and design choices—then presenting clear, defensible cost comparisons that shape design decisions before they are locked in.
• Build and defend should-cost models from the ground up (materials, labor, tooling, overhead, logistics) to validate supplier quotes and strengthen negotiation leverage, while running head-to-head cost-technology comparisons (e.g., stamped vs. cast, aluminum vs. steel) to guide engineering toward the best total-cost solution.Bridge finance and engineering, acting as the translator between technical teams and business leaders to ensure all stakeholders understand the cost implications of design and sourcing decisions, including through participation in GEMBA activities to benchmark supplier processes

You'll have... 

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, or related degree. 
• 3+ years of Work experience with automotive suppliers or any other OEM. 
• Cost analysis or manufacturing cost engineering experience, automotive or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
• Solid Knowledge and experience in Manufacturing Processes (stamping/sheet metal, electronics, cold and hot Forming, rolled forming, HPDC, tempering processes, welding, coating or any other Assembly processes).
• Understanding of main concepts of Lean Manufacturing.
• Advanced English.
• User level for Teamcenter (or any other viewer) for viewing 2D Drawings or 3D Models; CATIA.
• Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Data analytics
