What you will do
- Support engineering activities so our programs deliver on time. You will use Ford's global product development process to build and follow plans.
- Help the responsible engineer validate parts against customer, corporate and local requirements, as well as engineering and system design specifications and manufacturing and assembly needs.
- Manage and audit the Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering change processes for prototype and production builds. You will stay aware of worldwide engineering changes.
- Identify the validation, durability and functional tests each part needs, and follow up on engineering prototypes at part level.
- Take part in Technical Design Reviews. You will apply problem-solving strategies and support vehicle quality and validation reviews and tests.
What you bring
- Mechanical Engineering degree with an automotive focus, or in your final year of studies. You have completed coursework such as fluid mechanics and materials mechanics.
- Advanced English (C1), including technical engineering vocabulary.
- Solid understanding of how internal combustion engines work, and general automotive knowledge.
- Strong planning, follow-up and project management skills, and comfort with project management tools.
- A mechanical and mathematical mindset, and a data-driven approach to solving complex problems.
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
It's a plus if you have
- Experience with CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE or CATIA V6.
- Familiarity with Engine Air and Exhaust components, materials and manufacturing processes
