Seat Plastics Product Development Engineer

Seat Plastics Product Development Engineer main responsibility is to lead the design and release of plastics parts for new models or on-going production development to the seat system, he is responsible to guide the development of the vehicle seats plastics based on all the design rules and requirements applicable for seats on early development phases, until his complete industrialization and integration into the complete vehicle.

• Design, Develop, Release and Launch seat plastics through GPDS (PRE-PSC to J1).
• 4 days On Site in GTBC FORD MÉXICO (Naucalpan, México)
• QWCT (Quality, Weight, Cost, Timing) management for assigned parts.
• Attend program related meetings: To4, Seat plastics, EMMs, TDRMs, supplier meetings, purchasing meetings, etc. Some of them should be led by the D&R Engineer.
• Develop and execute Seat component level Design Verification Plans, support vehicle/system level DVP, and ensure compliance to all System Design Specifications (SDS) and Federal Regulations including unique Export Market Requirements.
• Create and maintain a timing/Gantt chart (PDP) for assigned parts and project.
• Keep a prevent recurrence actions /lessons learned / required design rules list, and cascade to Core team.
• Coordinate with other areas to make sure design intent meets all requirements (Seat Complete, Seat Structure, Seat Features, Studio, Safety, Craftsmanship, VO, PVT, Supplier, Tool shop, Purchasing, Finance, Program, etc.)

A Bachelor of engineering on: Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial or related.

4+ Years of Experience with the role or similar.

· MS Office expertise (including Project).

· Proficient English (Reading, listening and writing).

· Seat system or component parts design and manufacturing knowledge/experience.

· Product development and parts verification/validation experience.

· FEDE, ADS, FSMS, GPDS, E2KS and WERS systems knowledge.

· FMEA knowledge and Experience.

· Able to read and conceptualize 2D and 3D Engineering Drawings (including GD&T).

· Teamcenter, Tc VisMockup and CATIA (Basic) knowledge.  

Excellent Spanish/English communication skills.

· Excellent graphical communication skills (sketching).

· Able to explain complex engineering concepts to other areas: Studio, Program, etc.

· Structured problem solving and thinking.

· Proactive, Disciplined.

· Strong network and relationship builder.

· Go getter.

· Self-accountable for delivering results.

· Able to negotiate with other areas.

· Methodical but able to quickly analyze and take decisions.

· Ability and willingness to travel, as occasional travel will be required (Dearborn, Supplier sites, Ford assembly plant).
