As a Software Validation Engineer, you will build and execute automated tests for native features on the Ford mobile app, with an initial focus on native commerce (in-app accessories storefront and in-app subscriptions). You will work closely with a Lead Software Validation Engineer, who will mentor and coach you as you grow your skills in mobile test automation, and contribute to a small, collaborative QA team supporting Android and iOS.
- 4 Days On Site in GTBC Ford México (Naucalpan, México)
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for native mobile features using established frameworks (XCTest/XCUIAutomation for iOS, Jetpack Compose Test API + Espresso for Android).
- Execute test coverage for in-app purchase and subscription flows, including checkout, payment processing (Stripe test cards), and subscription lifecycle events (trials, renewals, cancellations), under the guidance of the Lead.
- Execute manual and automated test cases across development and staging environments, documenting results clearly.
- Analyze test failures, perform initial troubleshooting and debugging, and escalate complex root cause analysis to the Lead as needed.
- Log, track, and help manage defects through resolution using JIRA.
- Contribute test automation code to shared repositories using Git, following established branching and merge practices.
- Run automated test suites within existing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and flag pipeline issues to the Lead.
- Collaborate with the Lead and development team to understand feature requirements and translate them into test cases.
- Continuously build proficiency in mobile automation tooling and testing best practices, with growth support from the Lead.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in software quality assurance/testing, with exposure to mobile application testing (Android and/or iOS).
- Working knowledge of test automation using XCTest/XCUIAutomation (iOS) and/or Jetpack Compose Test API and Espresso (Android), or strong ability to ramp up quickly with mentorship.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce, in-app purchase, or subscription-based feature flows.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Exposure to defect/test management tools such as JIRA.
- Strong attention to detail and clear written communication for test documentation and defect reporting.
- Advanced English skills.

- Exposure to payment processing testing (e.g., Stripe or similar).
- Basic familiarity with web test automation (e.g., Playwright).
- Exposure to ISTQB testing principles.
