In this position...
As an In-Vehicle Software Validation & Quality Engineer, you will ensure that the software powering next-generation connected vehicles meets rigorous quality, security, and functional standards prior to deployment. Operating within an Agile framework, you will validate supplier software packages, test electronic control unit (ECU) applications, and develop automation tools that safeguard seamless over-the-air and factory software releases across global vehicle programs.

What you'll do...

• Validate supplier-delivered embedded software binaries, verifying format compliance, payload integrity, and feature readiness for global vehicle deployment pipelines.
• Design, review, and execute structured test cases and user stories based on industry standards (ISTQB) and functional requirements to ensure ECU module software reliability.
• Isolate, log, and track software defects to resolution using Jira Cloud, collaborating closely with development engineers to troubleshoot root causes.
• Utilize hardware and data acquisition instrumentation (such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and bus loggers) to capture real-time vehicle signal traces and diagnose system anomalies.
• Develop internal automation scripts and productivity tools (primarily in Python) to streamline verification workflows, test case execution, and technical release documentation.
• Collaborate actively within cross-functional Scrum teams to uphold software release schedules, reduce post-production defects, and drive continuous quality improvements.

You'll have...

• Currently enrolled in the final year or completed Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid foundation in electronic circuits, vehicle electronic control unit (ECU) concepts, and system architecture diagrams (state machines, flowcharts, decision tables).
• Practical programming skills in Python for test automation, data parsing, or internal tool development (exposure to GUI frameworks is a plus).
• Hands-on experience operating benchtop measurement and diagnostic tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, or signal generators.
• Familiarity with structured software testing methodologies and Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks.
• Professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal) to document test findings, create user stories, and collaborate across international engineering teams.

Even better, you may have...

• Familiarity with automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and vehicle diagnostic protocols (UDS).
• Knowledge of international software testing standards (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level certification or coursework).
• Experience using issue-tracking platforms (e.g., Jira Cloud) and collaborative revision control tools (e.g., Git/GitHub).
