HR Business Intern

Location: Dunton (Essex) or Dagenham

Duration: 12 months

Working Model: Four days on-site each week, with flexibility on attendance days according to business needs

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and analytical intern to support our HR team's transformation.  You will work with HR Business Partners, Centres of Expertise, IT and business stakeholders to simplify ways of working, improve the employee experience and help introduce new programmes and services. 

• Map and analyse HR processes, identify root causes of inefficiency and help design simpler, more effective ways of working.
• Support HR projects, employee programme and policy roll-outs, including project plans, action trackers, research and recommendations.
• Research and test digital solutions, such as workflow automation, self-service tools and chatbots, and help create procedures and digital job aids.
• Analyse process and project data, build dashboards and reports, measure outcomes and support business cases for change.
• Support change communications, training, workshops and feedback sessions to encourage adoption and improve effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate, accessible HR content in Ford’s internal systems and help improve employee guides, knowledge articles and self-service resources.

What we're looking for

• A current student seeking an internship or a recent graduate from any degree discipline.
• Strong analytical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.
• An interest in HR operations, process improvement, digital transformation and employee experience.
• Confidence using Excel to analyse data. 
• The ability to turn complex information into clear, practical recommendations.
• An organised, detail-focused approach and confidence working with ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of, or an interest in, continuous improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma. 
• Experience with Power BI, Visio, Lucidchart, Power Automate, Power Apps or similar tools would be useful.
