As an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) Software Tools Engineer, you will play a key role in the future of vehicle safety by designing, developing, and maintaining the software tools used to validate our next-generation technologies.  You will use MATLAB and CANape to create robust solutions for the acquisition and processing of vehicle validation data. These tools are used globally across our engineering teams, ensuring our ADAS features meet the highest performance standards and compliance requirements in an ever-evolving automotive landscape.

  • 4 days On Site: GTBC FORD MÉXICO. (Naucalpan, México)
  • Create and maintain software tools used to enable vehicle testing and analysis of ADAS feature performance.
  • Create performance metrics and objective targets used in vehicle assessments
  • Create and maintain data storage mechanisms (dashboards)
  • Provide technical assistance with data acquisition (troubleshooting, training).
  • Support development of verification methods, working with vehicle, hardware-in-the-loop, vehicle-in-the-loop and other advanced testing methodologies to validate new features.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (practical skills and attitude are prioritized). Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Advanced Programming Experience: Practical knowledge of a high-level programming language (preferably MATLAB).
  • Desire to Learn: Commitment to learning about ADAS features, vehicle test methods, regulatory protocols from external safety organizations (e.g. EuroNCAP, IIHS, NHTSA, etc.) and advanced MATLAB programming.
  • Autonomy: Ability to troubleshoot issues and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
  • English Proficiency: Professional level of written and spoken English.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle electrical architecture.

Desired Qualification:

  • MATLAB: Strong proficiency with a focus on data manipulation and algorithm development.
  • Vector Toolchain: Experience using CANape, CANalyzer, or similar data acquisition tools for test automation and CAPL tools development.
  • Vehicle Communication Protocols: Working experience CAN, CAN FD, XCP and Ethernet communication protocols.
  • ADAS Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with sensors (Radar, Camera) or validation protocols (NCAP, FMVSS).
  • Software Version Control & DevOps: Familiarity Proficiency with GitHub, Jenkins and CI/CD tools.
  • Agile & Project Management: Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira for project tracking.
