In this position...
The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
Are you energized by solving complex sourcing challenges and building supplier partnerships that drive real business impact? We're looking for a strategic, results-driven Buyer to lead the procurement of machinery and tooling equipment. In this role, you won't just process orders — you'll shape sourcing strategy, negotiate high-value contracts, and directly influence the speed, quality, and cost-efficiency of our manufacturing operations. If you're a natural negotiator who thrives on turning market insight into measurable savings, this is your opportunity to make a visible impact on the business.
What you'll do...
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for machinery and tooling equipment, including market research, supplier identification, and supplier qualification.
Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers, drafting agreements and resolving disputes to secure favorable, low-risk outcomes.
Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Identify and deliver measurable cost-savings opportunities through rigorous cost analysis and negotiation.
Monitor market trends and forecast demand to proactively manage supply risk and availability.
Partner with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategy with business priorities, and report on performance using key metrics.
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
Typically, 2 to 4 years of experience in procurement or sourcing; experience with capital equipment purchasing is a plus.
A track record of successful negotiation and cost reduction, with quantifiable results preferred.
Proficiency with procurement or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or Ariba).
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams and suppliers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with international suppliers is a plus.
Spanish language proficiency is a plus (if applicable to the region/role).
