  • Job Type: Full time
  • Work Type: Remote

In this position...

The Market Area Coordinator (MAC) serves as the strategic market leader and primary connection point between Ford strategy, MarketSource execution, market intelligence, and dealer outcomes.
The MAC is responsible for translating Ford's technician workforce priorities into a coordinated market strategy, establishing priorities for the TCS team, allocating resources based on dealer need and opportunity, and ensuring measurable improvement in technician workforce outcomes.
The MAC provides strategic oversight and governance for six TCS resources while maintaining alignment with Ford Regional Teams, dealer leadership, training and education partners, New Ford Tech, and other relevant Ford business partners.

What you'll do...

Success in this role is measured by market-level dealer outcomes, technician workforce improvement, TCS effectiveness, program adoption, cost efficiency, and return on investment — not simply activity volume.

Key Responsibilities
1. Market Strategy & Workforce Planning
Own the workforce strategy for the assigned market and establish priorities based on dealer needs, workforce data, market intelligence, and Ford strategic objectives.

• Own market-level technician workforce priorities and strategic objectives.
• Identify high-risk and high-opportunity dealerships.
• Analyze market trends, workforce gaps, retention challenges, recruiting needs, training requirements, and technician capacity.
• Establish TCS priorities and market engagement strategies.
• Identify emerging workforce trends and risks before they become critical issues.
• Prioritize TCS resources toward dealerships and opportunities with the greatest potential impact.
• Develop and maintain a market-level view of technician supply, demand, retention, pipeline, capacity, and readiness.
• Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations for Ford and MarketSource leadership.

2. TCS Leadership & Governance
Provide strategic direction, coaching, prioritization, and performance governance for TCS resources.

• Manage and provide strategic direction to TCS resources.
• Establish clear market priorities and expectations for TCS execution.
• Balance TCS workloads based on dealer complexity, geography, workforce need, and business opportunity.
• Ensure the appropriate TCS resource is assigned to each dealer opportunity.
• Review dealer assessments, engagement strategies, and action plans.
• Monitor execution against market priorities and performance objectives.
• Identify resource constraints and adjust assignments as market conditions change.
• Coach TCSs on consultative dealer engagement, workforce strategy, and outcome-based execution.
• Ensure TCS activity is focused on measurable dealer outcomes rather than activity volume.
• Identify and escalate performance or resource issues requiring leadership intervention.

3. Ford & Strategic Partner Alignment
Serve as the primary market-level connection point between MarketSource and Ford stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with:

• Ford Regional Teams
• Dealer leadership
• Ford and Lincoln dealerships Training and education partners
• New Ford Tech
• Technical schools and colleges
• Relevant Ford business partners
• Other workforce and technician development stakeholders

4. Dealer Escalation & Strategic Intervention
Serve as the escalation point for significant or complex dealer workforce challenges.
Escalation areas may include:

• Critical technician shortages
• Significant technician retention issues
• Persistent 0–2 year technician attrition
• Major recruiting or pipeline challenges
• Significant training or certification gaps
• Technician capacity constraints
• Complex dealer workforce challenges
• Tools, equipment, diagnostic, or technology readiness concerns
• Operational issues requiring cross-functional support

The MAC will determine the appropriate level of intervention and coordinate resources to develop and execute solutions.

5. Market Performance & Accountability
Own the performance of the assigned market and ensure TCS activities translate into measurable dealer outcomes.
Monitor and report performance across:

• Technician retention
• Early-career technician retention
• Technician placements and growth
• Technician pipeline development
• Training and certification
• Technician capacity
• Service operations impact
• Tools, equipment, diagnostics, and technology readiness
• Program adoption
• Dealer action-plan execution
• Dealer satisfaction
• TCS productivity
• Cost per dealer
• Return on investment (ROI)

The MAC will establish market-level performance targets, monitor progress, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions when performance is off target.

6. Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement
Use data, dealer feedback, and TCS insights to identify opportunities to improve the overall program.

• Aggregate TCS dealer intelligence into market-level insights.
• Identify common dealer workforce challenges and emerging trends.
• Identify successful practices that can be replicated across the market.
• Recommend process, program, or resource improvements.
• Use performance data to optimize TCS resource allocation.
• Provide leadership with actionable market intelligence and recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement of the TPS operating model.
