As a key leader, you will drive operational excellence by integrating Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and the Ford Production System (FPS) across manufacturing operations. This pivotal role involves shaping a culture of continuous improvement, providing strategic leadership for high-impact initiatives, and ensuring the sustainable implementation of FPS standards at all organizational levels. You will chair the Local FPS Governance Council, serve as the primary liaison to the Global FPS Team, and align plant performance with global Ford standards, actively supporting the closure of Lean Maturity Model gaps and overseeing improvement action plans.
Your responsibilities will also include championing the Ford Production System by embedding it into daily management and leadership behaviors, as well as implementing Ford North America’s Lean strategy through the deployment of key tools like Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping. You will guide and support Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts, providing rigorous training and coaching on the DMAIC framework, and mentor various levels of leadership and CI specialists on structured problem-solving and advanced analytics. Furthermore, you will lead strategic, cross-functional projects aligned with quality, safety, productivity, and cost-reduction targets, supporting change management to institutionalize new practices and foster long-term cultural transformation.
Join BlueOval Battery Park Michigan, a new state-of-the-art facility dedicated to powering the future of electric vehicles by producing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells for next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be a key part of our launch team, leveraging your entrepreneurial skills and team mindset to develop data-driven solutions and contribute to the historic transformation of the automotive industry. This role offers the unique opportunity to build and lead an agile team, foster a culture of trust and diverse thought, and contribute to a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company that will create over 1,700 jobs when production begins in 2026.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, rectifying, improving, and maintaining electrical components, as well as diagnosing and resolving fault conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in programming machinery and related equipment using Siemens PLC programming, SP700, and other PLC software to monitor and modify equipment programs. You will also manage the selection, procurement, and inventory of electrical spare parts, understand various sensor applications, and conduct thorough fault analyses to prevent recurrence. Furthermore, you will play a vital role in enhancing team competence by conducting electrical training for subordinate technicians and sharing problem-solving experiences, while also maintaining equipment cycle times, supporting product design changes, and assisting with test stand instrumentation calibration. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, and the ability to travel extensively, including internationally.
