Ford Motor Company continues to grow and modernize production vehicles for our customers seeking the ultimate capability and performance.  In support of this effort, the Ford Racing team is looking for a program management leader with technical knowledge of hybrid powertrain systems and a passion for high performing vehicles.

Ford Racing xHEV Program Manager: 

  • Program Manager of Hybrid Electric unit program managing delivery through all Milestones from kickoff through to launch of the vehicle program

  • Interface with the Ford Planning organization, Ford Racing Engineering, Finance and the Supply base to manage xHEV deliverables that are compatible across several program applications

  • Lead GPDS Execution: Drive the hybrid powertrain program through all Global Product Development System (GPDS) milestones, from Kick-off through Job 1 and beyond.
  • Timing Oversight: Develop and maintain the VPP Program Timing, ensuring all hardware (Battery and Hybrid Powerpack subsystems) and software workstreams are synchronized.
  • Gateway Readiness: Lead the preparation for executive gateway reviews, ensuring all evidence for "Green" status is met for technical and financial deliverables.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the engineering development and investment budgets, ensuring the unit program remains within the approved financial limits.
  • Cost Tracking: Partner with Purchasing, Finance and Engineering to track Material Cost to meet program financial targets.
  • Change Management: Manage the Change Control process to evaluate the impact of design changes on cost and timing.
  • Quality Targets: Ensure the hybrid unit meets Quality / TGW and durability targets (DV/PV testing).
  • Supplier Management: Coordinate with Engineering and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure delivery of parts for prototype builds (Mule, Design validation and Pre-Production phases).

Leadership & Communication

  • PST Leadership: Chair the Program Steering Team (PST) meetings, fostering collaboration between Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Finance.
  • Executive Reporting: Provide concise status updates to senior leadership regarding program status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify risks to critical path delivery and develop robust recovery plans to protect Job 1.

Minimum requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering required.  

  • Minimum of 15 years experience including Program Management and Engineering

  • Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.  

  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills.

Desired requirements:

  • Engineering MS degree or higher

  • Experience delivering hybrid powerpacks and subsystems

  • Working understanding of Functional requirements, failure mode effects, causes, severity and detection methods (DFMEAs)

  • Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.
