In this position... 

The Quality Supervisor position is a supervisory leadership role supported by on-the-job training, development, and opportunity for career progression. Production Supervisors are:

What you'll do...

  • Prepare and manage standard reports for Quality reviews both plant and executive level
  • Lead daily Quality meetings and co-lead incoming quality meetings
  • Clearly communicate incoming/outgoing Quality issue details to plant personnel
  • Coach team and confirm containment actions, dock holds, and special checks are in place to eliminate any impact to customer during quality concerns.
  • Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams using an innovative approach
  • Make quality calls that are in line with the customer acceptance level and liability of defect
  • Review rejected parts for quality integrity and decide next steps
  • Work cross-department; Initiate containment, investigate/determine root cause, push team (internal/external) to implement corrective actions
  • Investigate incoming quality concerns, collecting valid evidence & proof
  • Raise incoming quality concerns in GSAR QR system
  • Coordinate incoming part sorting/containment (including sorting at plant or arranging shipment of defective/suspect parts back to supplier).
  • Review and analyze Supplier 8D reports through to effective closure, including chargebacks & disputes
  • Effectively contain suspect incoming and outgoing parts to protect customer
  • Communicate clearly with suppliers and manage any conflicts between affected parties
  • Supervise hourly employees (skilled & non-skilled) for quality support and data collection
  • Communication and recognition

  • Build Team Member capability and accountability

  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks

  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents

  • Optimize outputs in accordance with budgets and cost objectives 

  • Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently and drive improvements and change to support “World Class Quality” 

You'll have... 

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1+ years of Engineering/Manufacturing experience; experience in Quality processes is highly desirable
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Understanding of internal OIS sheets to confirm correct processes are being followed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data driven approach
  • Proven critical thinker and troubleshooter to deliver industry leading quality 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and have ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to build strong, professional relationship 
  • Candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule, (including RDOs and different shifts) as needed
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate FORD behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of Quality
  • Previous Incoming Quality Supervision
  • Previous automotive and quality analysis experience
  • Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives
  • Proven problem-solving ability

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
