In this position...
The Specialist, HR Shared Service, working under general direction, acts as a trusted People First (Ford’s HR support team) representative to local colleagues and employees in the Dearborn, Michigan area. Through the cultivation of deep relationships, contextual knowledge within their assigned team, and the application of process / policy expertise, this role will support the resolution of complex, detailed, and highly visible HR-related inquiries, transactions, escalations, and projects. Essential responsibilities include modeling customer service excellence and proactively developing solutions that enhance employee experiences and systemically solve process challenges.
This role is hybrid and requires at least 4 days per week onsite in Dearborn, MI.
What you'll do...
- Intake, strategically prioritize, and apply policy / process expertise to resolve HR policy / process inquiries, transactions, and escalations, especially those that are executive-level, high-visibility, and / or complex (e.g., leaves of absences, position changes, etc.).
- Leverage critical thinking skills and curiosity to deeply understand contextual nuance and anticipate issues, downstream impacts, and connection points to other processes to deliver work with excellence.
- Liaise between / delegate action (when appropriate) to People First colleagues and key partners (e.g. Total Rewards, Mobility, etc.). Monitor closely to ensure efficient and accurate resolution.
- Participate in the delivery of special projects and initiatives. Such projects include org. designs which require mass position changes / HCM data alignment, job architecture, position management, and other data clean-up exercises. These may require varied reporting needs that become nuanced by organization.
- Proactively identify systemic issues and develop root-cause solutions that enhance the employee experience and may be scaled across teams / functions.
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned customer group(s), including attending HR team meetings, to build the contextual knowledge and collaborative relationships required to serve as a trusted point of contact to local employees and colleagues.
- Model customer service excellence to the broader People First Team, including sharing learnings and best practices.
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience (Master's preferred).
- 3+ years of HR business partner work including strategic Human Resources work experience, such as policy design, organizational design, etc.
Even better, you may have...
- Proficient in Ford’s HR systems (i.e. Oracle HCM, Visier, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience working as an HR Business Partner or related customer-facing role.
- Exemplary collaborator with superior relationship building and communication skills.
- Critical thinker who anticipates challenges and acts proactively.
- Skilled multi-tasker with the ability to strategically triage work and execute with agility and attention to detail.
- Committed learner who pursues opportunities to grow knowledge and skills in diverse disciplines and situations.
Work Requirements:
- Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position and entails no significant stooping, standing, climbing, walking, etc. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
