Overview

At Ford, you’ll work on ideas that matter, alongside passionate people who want to make a global impact. Together, we’re shaping the next era of transportation—grounded in purpose, driven by progress. Make your move.

  • Job Type: Full time
  • Work Type: Hybrid

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves, and build a better world—together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Do you believe the systems that define and manage vehicle product structures are essential to the future of mobility? We do! Delivering vehicles efficiently requires accurate, connected, and reliable Bill of Material data that moves seamlessly from Product Development through Manufacturing and beyond. That’s where Industrial Systems IT makes an impact. We deliver the platforms, integrations, and data capabilities that enable engineering teams to design, configure, build, and support the products of the future.

We are seeking an experienced IT Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Bill of Material capabilities supporting Product Development, with specialized focus on Propulsion BOM within the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform. In this role, you will own the health, evolution, and lifecycle of BOM applications, integrations, and data flows that power engineering-to-manufacturing processes.

This role blends technical platform ownership—including application architecture, integrations, data governance, compliance, and release management—with product-management discipline, including roadmap development, backlog prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and value delivery. Working closely with Propulsion Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, enterprise architecture, platform engineering, and Agile delivery teams, you will ensure the 3DEXPERIENCE BOM ecosystem is secure, scalable, reliable, compliant, and continuously improving.

IT Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the IT product roadmap for the Product Development BOM domain, with specialized focus on Propulsion BOM capabilities within the 3DEXPERIENCE and ENOVIA platform.
  • Define product strategy for Engineering Bill of Material, Manufacturing Bill of Material, effectivity, configuration structures, and related propulsion data for engines, transmissions, electrified drive units, battery systems, and associated components.
  • Align the product roadmap with enterprise IT strategy, Product Lifecycle Management modernization initiatives, cybersecurity and compliance requirements, and Product Development business priorities.
  • Balance investment across new-feature delivery, platform stability, technical-debt reduction, lifecycle management, end-of-life planning, upgrades, and operational support.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture and platform engineering teams to define scalable, secure, and resilient future-state BOM solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product usability, data quality, system performance, engineering workflows, and cross-functional business value.

Backlog & Delivery Management

  • Own and prioritize the IT product backlog, including epics, features, user stories, defects, technical debt, and operational enhancements.
  • Partner with Agile delivery teams, including developers, quality engineers, integration engineers, architects, and platform teams, to plan and deliver product capabilities.
  • Write clear business and technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release objectives.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, user acceptance testing, and related Agile delivery activities.
  • Manage release planning, deployment and cutover strategies, post-release hypercare, and ongoing support for BOM domain changes.
  • Track delivery progress, dependencies, risks, quality outcomes, and product-health indicators; communicate required decisions and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
  • Ensure product changes are designed, tested, deployed, and supported in accordance with enterprise standards and operational expectations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Product Governance

  • Act as the primary IT liaison to Propulsion Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, and other Product Development stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs, engineering processes, and product-structure requirements into IT-deliverable solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships across business, engineering, architecture, data governance, and technical delivery organizations.
  • Facilitate governance forums, including change advisory boards, working sessions, and steering committees, to support prioritization, investment, risk, and design decisions.
  • Communicate roadmap status, product value, delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to business sponsors and IT leadership.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders on product outcomes, priorities, adoption needs, and future-state capabilities.

Data Governance, Compliance & Product Health

  • Champion BOM data standards, master-data governance, data-quality controls, and lifecycle-management practices in partnership with data governance and enterprise architecture teams.
  • Ensure BOM solutions meet IT compliance, audit, cybersecurity, access-control, data-privacy, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with technical teams to support reliable integration patterns and data architectures connecting PLM systems with ERP, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for product health and business value, including system uptime, incident and defect rates, BOM data accuracy, release velocity, and EBOM-to-MBOM synchronization performance.
  • Use product metrics, stakeholder feedback, operational data, and delivery insights to identify improvement opportunities and prioritize corrective actions.
  • Support continuous modernization of the BOM ecosystem, including platform upgrades, integration enhancements, data-quality improvements, and technical-debt reduction.

We recognize that no one person will embody every single quality or skill listed below. If you are passionate about product management, Product Lifecycle Management platforms, engineering data, and enabling the future of vehicle development, we encourage you to apply.

Education:

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, information technology or a technology related field
  • Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Master of Engineering or a related advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in IT product management, application ownership, systems analysis, technical program management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting Product Lifecycle Management, Bill of Material, engineering-data, manufacturing-data, or enterprise product-development systems in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with Agile or Scrum delivery teams and managing product backlogs using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing application-release cycles, deployment planning, user acceptance testing, post-release support, and continuous product improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across product delivery, operational stability, technical debt, compliance, and platform lifecycle requirements.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Required Technical Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including ENOVIA BOM Management, Change Management, Configuration, and Effectivity capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of Propulsion or Powertrain engineering data structures, including EBOM and MBOM concepts for engines, transmissions, hybrid systems, electric drive units, battery systems, or related product structures.
  • Understanding of BOM configuration management, effectivity, product structures, engineering change processes, and engineering-to-manufacturing data flows.
  • Experience translating business requirements into product roadmaps, technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
  • Understanding of enterprise system-integration patterns, APIs, data architecture principles, and PLM-to-ERP or PLM-to-MES integration ecosystems.
  • Experience supporting data governance, master-data management, data-quality controls, audit requirements, access controls, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to define, monitor, and use product metrics to assess application health, release performance, data quality, and business value.
  • Ability to bridge business, engineering, and IT teams to drive alignment and deliver practical, scalable technology solutions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP integrations supporting EBOM-to-MBOM synchronization and downstream manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD and CAE authoring tools, including CATIA or NX, and their linkage to PLM and BOM systems.
  • Experience with electrified propulsion program data, including battery packs, e-motors, power electronics, and associated configuration complexity.
  • Background in IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise application security, or platform operations relevant to PLM environments.
  • Experience supporting Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, or automotive product-launch processes.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms, master-data management capabilities, API integration, and digital-thread initiatives.
  • Experience participating in large-scale PLM modernization, system migration, platform upgrade, or enterprise transformation programs.
