What you'll be able to do:
Technical Systems Integration Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Develop vehicle electrical schematics that deliver compatible form and function providing logical connectivity, electrical power distribution and grounding for all electric components (electronic modules, sensors, actuators, motors, etc.), while meeting all regulatory and company specific requirements, and executing corporate standards for Failure Mode Avoidance. Support prototype build events, including but not limited to Electrical Breadboards and Prototype Vehicles, with the responsibility to flash and configure electronic modules, execute modules diagnostics self-test routines, perform functional tests, KOL tests, understand and solve Electronic Systems Integration issues that may happen due to hardware or software maturity, collect vehicle CAN communication logs to support troubleshoot work, interface with design engineers from other functional areas to root cause issues. Review the results of all Design Verification Tests necessary to validate the Electrical Systems requirements to attest the outcomes that meet or exceed the pass criteria. Investigate, remediate, and retest failures to ensure effectiveness of any design change. Support Assembly Plant launch builds and voice of customer fleet vehicles by providing “in loco” assistance during pre-production and production ramp-up builds, providing technical expertise to triage and root cause problems that may impact vehicle processing through automated End of Line tests, ensuring final product quality meets corporate standards. Domestic Travel Required up to 30%.
You'll have…
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Designing vehicle level Electrical Schematics for various sub systems including device transmittal (DT) set-up and DT approvals. 2. Collaborating with engineering/functional owner to ensure compatibility between components for entire electrical sub systems. 3. Performing Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis on various electrical sub systems to identify any potential design failures and possible improvements. 4. Performing design verification of electrical systems via prototype and preproduction breadboard and vehicle testing. 5. Experience with Vehicle Network protocols including CAN, LIN and Automotive Ethernet. 6. Using Canalyzer, Vector CAN tools and Diagnostic Engineering Tools (DET), for issue debugging and trouble shooting. 7. Root cause analysis using diagnostic trouble codes and CAN bus data. 8. Leading the End of line issue trouble shooting for failures identified during design verification and vehicle launch at manufacturing plants and VOCF. 9. Utilizing the connected vehicle data and KOL logger tools for key-off-load (KOL) issue diagnostics during the vehicle launch period. 10. Interfacing with vehicle product development, design and release engineers and other cross-functional teams.
We are offering a salary of $125,362.00 - $192,900.00/yr.
