In this position...
Systems Engineering and Integration- Body Exterior. A System Engineering Team (SET) engineer acts as single point of contact between Functional Engineering and the Vehicle Program teams, ensuring and coordinating functional support and assisting functional teams in any way possible to remove roadblocks and get the job done. SET engineers are responsible for system engineering efficiency and delivery.
What you'll do...
SETs include many systems of the vehicle, including the following: Doors/closures, roof system, bodyside, liftgate, fenders, hoods, fascias, etc.
A SET engineer will:
·Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior Systems & Structures, Interior Systems, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones.
·Drive cross-functional issue resolution (Program, studio, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones
·Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost, and/or vehicle weight.
·Manage system cost status with design and release (D&R) and finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solutions are being brought forward to program.
·Lead weekly reporting of SET team program milestone status to leadership.
·Lead escalation of issues when needed within applicable functional teams.
·Lead resolution of product development launch issues via change management tools and other launch performance metrics for on-time delivery of launch.
·Provide technical updates on issue resolution to the integration and program teams.
·Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program.
You'll have...
·Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree.
·5+ years of experience with one or more of the following systems: Side door systems, body structures, hardware/locks/mechanisms, front/rear systems, lighting, liftgates, hoods, or similar
·Ability to convey complex technical information to diverse non-technical audiences.
·Ability to guide cross-functional teams to solutions.
·Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
·Demonstrated organizational and delegation skills with proper follow-up
·Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficiently
·Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs
·Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering)
·Onsite collaboration expected for at least 4 days per week

This position is a salary grade range 5-8.
- Salary grade 5 ranges from $63,480-106,680
- Salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440
- Salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.
- Salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120
