Responsible for identifying low-cost sourcing strategy of Vietnam based supplier for FCSD IMG and working with the FCSD purchasing organization globally, develop suppliers, lead the sourcing, supplier delivery performance.
To act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for sourcing projects requested with the support from the IMG FCSD Purchasing organization (STA, business office) and Engineer team.
Identify potential low cost VN suppliers, evaluate, and develop to help FCSD purchasing group to achieve the material cost saving.
Lead the sourcing of automotive service parts for IMG markets, identify capable suppliers, initiate the RFQ process and negotiate piece prices, tooling cost and R&D cost. Prepare decision paper for the recommended quotation to be implemented and place the Purchase Orders accordingly.
Lead the cost reduction initiatives for the suppliers and contribute to the overall IMG FCSD purchasing cost reduction target. Conduct market tests, participate in TVM’s and make use of cost estimators in order to keep the part price at the lowest level possible at any time.
Support North America, European and other regional service part purchasing teams by identifying potential IMG suppliers for specific commodities and support the negotiation process and the PO placement.
Maintain the sourcing contract for the responsible service parts. Support and improve the on-going supply performance of IMG suppliers.
Maintain a close relationship with OE purchasing counterparts, STA and SCM.
Proactively participate in cross functional projects (mainly PS&L) or multi-national teams (e.g., Purchasing processes across regions) as required by the business.
Adhere to purchasing processes, stay in line with the levels of authority and ensure audit compliance.
Unique to this role, serve as single purchasing point of contact for the China RPP team and support communications with the rest of the IMG FCSD purchasing organization as requested.
- Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Engineering or Technical Discipline
- No. of Years of Experience: 6+ yrs. work experience in Purchasing, preferred in the automotive industry
- Professional Exposure (Technical Skills): Familiarity with purchasing process and financial and/or purchasing software applications.
- Preferred previous experiences: Experience in any of the following is preferred: Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain
- Functional Skills: Proven analytical ability, attention to detail, ability to work across matrix organization, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Behavioral Skills: Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills with capability to work independently. Team player.
Special Knowledge/ Skills Required: Excellent in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint software. Strong negotiation skill.
Any Others: Flexible to travel to suppliers.
