The Production Control Coordinator & Customer Service is responsible for overseeing the short- and mid-term production planning and material flow within the Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) function, ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing operations and on-time customer delivery. In this role, you will translate the master production schedule (MPS) into actionable daily and weekly plans, ensuring precise sequencing and line-side delivery across all active production lines. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Logistics, Quality, Purchasing, and Planning teams to proactively identify and resolve material availability, capacity, and scheduling constraints before they impact the production floor. This position emphasizes data-driven decision-making, KPI monitoring, and continuous improvement to sustain inventory health and customer satisfaction in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.

Safety

Quality

  • Ensure compliance with quality metrics and customer satisfaction standards.

  • Manage and resolve quality discrepancies related to deliveries and parts service, coordinating with the corresponding areas for timely corrective action.

Delivery

  • Develop and maintain the daily and weekly production plan, fully aligned with the master production schedule (MPS) and current customer requirements.

  • Analyze customer releases and production projections, including the annual production horizon where applicable, to ensure forward visibility and planning accuracy.

  • Coordinate shipping plans with the carrier to ensure timely execution of all delivery commitments.

  • Manage the creation and accuracy of shipping documents in ERP and CFDIs as applicable.

  • Maintain the integrity of production counts and ensure ongoing alignment with the current production plan.

Continuous Improvement & Competence

  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery reliability, inventory health, and production efficiency; propose actionable improvements to processes, tools, and workflows.

  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys) to resolve recurring scheduling, material, or delivery deviations.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional support areas — including Purchasing, Logistics, and Quality — to ensure the robustness and reliability of the production plan.

Cost

  • Meet the established inventory budget and actively contribute to reducing premium transportation and logistics costs.

  • Optimize inventory levels and minimize obsolescence risk through proactive analysis and planning.

  • Support the analysis of variances in supplier releases.

  • Create and maintain cost controls associated with logistics and production operations.

People

  • Lead and develop the production and operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Proactively manage conflicts and promote an environment of accountability and high performance.

Shared Activities

  • Inventory analysis and reduction; correction of negative balances; correction of production counts.

  • Support customs clearance for customer shipments with Customs Department.

  • Coordinate MTC implementation dates and supplier prototype management with the Engineer Change Coordinator.

  • Daily update of production rates and one-year plan projection in coordination with Production Planning North America.

  • Analyze release variances; monitor surplus and critical materials with Penske.

  • Maintain customer service satisfaction aligned with the MPL Process Coach.

Education & Experience

Requirement

Detail

Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in production control, material planning, logistics coordination, or a related manufacturing environment

Certifications (Preferred)

APICS CPIM, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent supply chain or manufacturing certification


Technical Skills

  • Production planning and scheduling expertise within a context in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Inventory management and optimization — safety stock, FIFO, pull systems, kanban, and line-side delivery

  • Data analysis and KPI reporting using Advanced Excel and Power BI

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction methodologies

  • ERP proficiency and experience with ERP-driven release, sequencing, and logistics processes

  • Management and interpretation of supplier and customer releases, including EDI interfaces and release variance analysis

Soft Skills / Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex information clearly across all organizational levels

  • Structured problem-solving and critical thinking using 8D, 5 Whys, and root-cause analysis methodologies

  • High attention to detail and organizational discipline in managing multiple concurrent planning activities

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive manufacturing environment

  • Cross-functional collaboration and conflict resolution across Production, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, and Planning teams

  • Proactive, data-driven mindset with strong change readiness and adaptability

  • Leadership and team development capabilities aligned with a continuous improvement culture

  • Professional English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) — Required
