Join our Advanced EV Development (ADVEV) team for a 6-month Student Worker Program and help build the future of mobility! Immerse yourself in Ford's center of innovation and growth, working alongside top engineering, design, and software talent to create groundbreaking EVs and contribute to key technologies like batteries, charging, and recycling. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience and make a real impact on the automotive industry.

The Battery Pack Associate Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and implementation of lithium-ion battery systems for our electric vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge battery technology within the automotive industry, working alongside experienced engineers.

What you’ll do...

•    Assist in the development and design of lithium-ion battery systems, learning to utilize tools such as 3DX.
•    Support cross-functional teams to ensure battery systems meet performance, safety, and cost requirements, as well as seamless integration with the overall vehicle platform.
•    Help create test plans and support the execution and analysis of battery system tests to identify and assist in resolving any issues.
•    Learn to collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the quality of battery components.
•    Support the creation of boundary diagrams and device transmittals.
•    Assist in coordinating CAE simulations for both mechanical and thermal systems.
•    Maintain documentation and records related to battery system designs and testing results.
•    Stay up-to-date with the latest battery technology and industry trends, contributing to our electric vehicles remaining competitive.

You'll have...
•    Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
•    Demonstrated foundational knowledge in battery technology, thermodynamics, or mechanical design through coursework or academic projects.
•    Strong interest in electric vehicles and battery systems.
•    Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Even better, you may have...
•    Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., 3DX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
•    Experience with academic projects related to battery design, testing, or electric vehicle components.
•    Familiarity with adhesives and thermal interface materials concepts.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    An eagerness to learn and contribute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
