Ford Credit is building the financial infrastructure behind Ford's electric future in Europe — and we're looking for a talented frontend engineer to help us do it.
You'll be a core contributor in a team building customer-facing products used by millions of people across Europe. That means writing excellent code, actively contributing to technical discussions, and playing a key role in how we deliver great software.
This is a hands-on engineering role where your technical craft is front and centre. You'll work closely alongside a Lead Engineer, taking real ownership of features and helping to shape how the team builds — while continuing to grow your own skills in a supportive environment.
- Building great frontend software: Writing clean, well-tested code that you and the team are proud of
- Contributing to technical decisions: Sharing your perspective in architecture discussions and helping evaluate the best approaches for the team
- Taking ownership of features: Driving work end-to-end from technical design through to production
- Writing and reviewing code: Participating actively in code reviews, giving useful feedback and learning from others
- Collaborating with Product: Working closely with product managers to understand requirements and provide clear technical input
- Supporting your teammates: Sharing knowledge, pairing with less experienced engineers, and contributing to a positive team culture
- Living agile: Engaging fully in ceremonies, contributing to continuous improvement, and keeping delivery moving
Essential
- 4+ years of frontend engineering experience with strong hands-on frontend skills
- Solid understanding of component design, state management, and building performant UIs
- Good grasp of testing practices, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress or similar
- Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines and modern frontend tooling
- Clear communicator who can articulate technical ideas to both engineers and non-technical teammates
- Curiosity, a growth mindset, and a genuine care for code quality
Nice to have
- Cloud experience, GCP preferred
- Familiarity with other technologies (Java / Spring Boot) to collaborate effectively across the stack
- Experience in regulated industries, fintech, banking, or similar
- Exposure to security and quality tooling, SonarQube, Checkmarx, FOSSA
Additional Information:
The Company is committed to diversity and equality of opportunity for all and is opposed to any form of less favourable treatment or harassment on the grounds of race, religion or belief, sex, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability
This position is based in the Manchester Business Centre, and it is expected the successful candidate will be able to attend the Manchester Business Centre for typically 3 days a week increasing to 4 days in the future and remain flexible on the days they are required to attend the office according to business requirements.
