As an Indirect Supply Chain CapEx Category Manager at Ford, you will be a strategic architect of our procurement future. You won't just manage spend; you will shape the global strategies for Indirect Equipment Services and Supplies (Machinery and Tooling) that power our manufacturing excellence. By developing robust Master Category Strategies (MCSs), you will ensure our automotive processes are supported by a resilient, innovative, and cost-effective supply base. Your leadership will be the bridge between complex market intelligence and operational execution, directly contributing to Ford’s transformation into the world’s most trusted mobility company.
What you'll do:
Strategic Leadership & Design
- Architect Master Category Strategies (MCSs): Design and spearhead long-term global strategies for Machinery and Tooling that align with Ford’s evolving business objectives and manufacturing needs.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive research into global and regional industrial trends, economic shifts, and external supply market dynamics to future-proof our sourcing decisions.
- Innovation & Optimization: Drive "out-of-the-box" projects to streamline the buyer’s workflow and advocate for the adoption of cutting-edge Category Management best practices.
Execution & Financial Impact
- Deliver Value: Deploy targeted category actions to achieve and exceed savings targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and delivery.
- Risk & Lifecycle Management: Proactively identify supply chain risks and implement robust mitigation, cost reduction, and inventory optimization plans.
- Taxonomy & Governance: Align category taxonomy with existing commodity codes and ensure rigorous adherence to the Category Management process.
Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Lead diverse teams (Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing) to develop and approve MCSs, ensuring buy-in from key strategic stakeholders.
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage high-impact relationships with suppliers, fostering a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
- Expert Guidance: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for purchasing agents and buyers, providing the roadmap and oversight needed for successful strategy implementation.
You'll have...
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Strategic Sourcing. orrelated areas (Indirect Purchasing / CapEx experience is a plus).
- Core Expertise: Proven track record in Category Management concepts and the ability to manage moderately complex, high-impact projects.
- Strategic Thinking: Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable procurement strategies.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and influence skills; ability to navigate a matrixed organization and build consensus.
- Language: Full professional proficiency in English (written and oral).
