PD Academy is Product Development's accelerated talent development program, designed to grow the next generation of high-potential engineers. As part of the program, you will work on a real project while completing courses and training that will accelerate your professional growth.
We are looking for a recently graduated Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary development team as a key integrating piece. You won't be the primary developer of a single layer (database, backend, or frontend); instead, you'll be the person who connects, validates, and brings coherence to the entire project, ensuring that the different parts built by the team work harmoniously and meet high quality standards.
This role is ideal if you have a full-stack mindset, a general understanding of how a database, backend, and frontend work, and the ability to identify inconsistencies, bottlenecks, or areas for improvement across the different components of the system.
What does PD Academy offer you?
- A real, impactful project — not just internship tasks or isolated assignments.
- Continuous technical training (courses and workshops) throughout the year.
- Mentorship and guidance from a multidisciplinary team.
- Act as the integration point between the work of the DB/Backend developer, the Frontend developer, and the graphic designer.
- Perform end-to-end integration testing to validate that complete flows (inventory, 3D printing requests, metrics dashboards) work correctly.
- Support technical documentation of the project (architecture, APIs, data flows).
- Identify and report bugs or inconsistencies across the system's layers.
- Collaborate on the configuration and deployment of resources on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Track project progress and facilitate technical communication among team members.
- Propose quality improvements, best practices, and code standardization across developers.
- Support user testing and validation of the platform's final experience.
- Actively participate in PD Academy courses and training, applying what you learn to your assigned project.
Education
Bachelor's degree (recently completed and/or up to 1 year of verifiable professional experience) in Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) — familiarity with relational models.
- Basic backend development knowledge (REST APIs, business logic).
- Basic frontend knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript; frameworks such as React or Vue are a plus).
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform: Cloud SQL, App Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Firebase (desirable).
- Basic understanding of cloud application deployment.
- Understanding of software testing concepts (unit, integration, end-to-end).
- Use of version control tools (Git/GitHub).
- Familiarity with Postman or similar tools for API testing.
- Basic knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Programming languages: Python and/or JavaScript/Node.js (backend), JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend), SQL.
Ability to clearly document technical processes and architecture.
Soft Skills
- Systemic/holistic vision: ability to see the "big picture" of the project, not just one part of it.
- Effective communication: translating technical needs between different roles on the team (backend, frontend, design).
- Collaboration: working smoothly with a multidisciplinary team with minimal friction.
- Attention to detail: spotting inconsistencies or errors others might overlook.
- Proactivity: anticipating integration issues before they impact the project.
- Organization: ability to track multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Conflict resolution: mediating between different technical approaches within the team.
- Quality mindset: a focus on ensuring the final product meets the highest standards.
Continuous learning mindset: eagerness to make the most of the program's courses and training.
Preferred Experience
- Academic or thesis projects involving full-stack development (even at a basic level).
- Experience in collaborative projects with multi-person teams (class projects, hackathons, internships).
- Internships in software development, QA, or technical support roles.
- Exposure (even academic) to Google Cloud Platform or another cloud provider (AWS, Azure).
- Experience conducting software testing or participating in QA processes.
A portfolio or GitHub repository with projects demonstrating an understanding of the different layers of a web application.
Nice to Have
- Basic Google Cloud certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or similar).
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana).
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD.
- Prior experience working with UX/UI designers (understanding of design-to-development handoff).
