PD Engineer - Intern

As a Trainee C2 Planning and Strategy Engineer, you will be responsible for having extensive interaction with cross-functional and regional (BU) management teams to lead programs through the Pre milestone approval process, develop Ford’s future Portfolio, and cast the portfolio in the Global Product Cycle Plan.  Candidates should be self-starters who are willing to work diligently in an unstructured environment where initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support development of compelling product proposition to meet customer expectations - Support development of prioritized customer experiences; Support identification of the Winning Aspiration and profitability objective; Translate customer priorities into actionable items; Drive feature creation/prioritization and incorporation; Support customer research events
• Support development of cost targets to be compatible with profitability and revenue strategies, Lead business case analyses of program choices; optimize Corporate financial targets
• Support definition of FAR business strategy grounded in design thinking using strategic choice cascades - Drive ecosystem business model development
• Support development of prioritized winning portfolio investment proposals - Lead deep dive strategic studies and explore white-space innovation opportunities; Ensure robust business case development of Global Cycle Plan actions 
• Analyze and manipulate data from various sources.
• Support the development of project plans.
• Apply AI and ML technology under guidance.
• Assist in visualizing data and interpreting results.
• Participate in communicating results to different audiences.

Qualifications:

• Engineering or Business degree required.  Advanced degree desired but not required
• Strong Business Acumen & Strategic Planning/Thinking with a Global / Enterprise mindset; willingness to challenge past norms to define future success 
• Well-developed ability to shape the product strategy while leaning on project management skills
• Self-motivated, eager to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Python programming for AI and Data Science.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in utilizing 6-Sigma methodology for process improvement and quality management.
• Bachelor student of Computer Engineering, Data science, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, or similar technical discipline.
