Product Development Engineer

The candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in low voltage wiring and connection systems - which includes a strong grasp of vehicle program deliverables. They will be responsible for coordinating the sourcing, design, component compatibility, program delivery and issue resolution of specialty cable assemblies (e.g. coax) for global vehicle programs/platforms.
- Host program sign-off meetings
- Host technical design reviews of program specialty cable assemblies
- Prospecting new supplier documentation and test results (DVP&Rs)
- Benchmarking competitor designs/systems
- Root cause investigation of quality issues (AIMS, VOCF, etc)
- Review Design and Compliance of connectors/terminals
- Review Assembly plants and test results of Specialty Cables Assembly
- Release new cable assemblies, as needed
- Review length changes and their impacts
- Review package of routing of specialty cables and assess risks
- Review timeline of specialty cables assembly releases w/ suppliers & program
- Manage Supplier deliverables
- Review PPAPs
- Review and provide input for specialty cables assembly SCCAF
- Plan to industrialize the components and reworks for specialty cables
- Provide input on Requirements updates
- Provide input on Failure Mode Avoidance Documentation
- Release Lessons Learned for DFMEA
- Documentation and Topology of the Programs
Education:
Minimum Bachelor of Science
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in EDS (Electrical Wiring), EDS Components, EE systems
Licenses and Certifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (preferred)
Work Requirements:
Experience in written and oral communication with peers and management
Ability to schedule, structure and lead discussions (in-person and virtually)
Team-oriented
Self-motivated
