Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Science, Engineering, or business) with significant manufacturing experience in Welded Assemblies and Final Assembly processes
Prior cost estimating experience and physical based costing is required
Ability to lead a skilled diverse team, be flexible, support customers’ requests for engineering packages costing on all future programs
Ability to evaluate design and provide cost coaching related to best practices and most efficient manufacturing process
Ability to evaluate supplier quotes compared to Cost Estimating and provide your view by leading discussions and defending positions
High integrity, leadership behavior, take initiatives and ownership are critical
Process oriented leader with analytical skills and a high degree of business acumen.
Ability to understand complex problems and designs, translate design BoM into manufacturing point of view for best-in-class approach operational and strategic business issues.Ability to construct and analyze manufacturing costs of components by reviewing drawings, engineering specifications, and functional requirements.
Demonstrate a proven understanding of business concepts as well as quantitative and critical thinking skills.
Ability to assess cost benefit analysis of different supplier manufacturing methods.
Ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problems
Ability to lead a group of technical estimators and create transformative approach to developing the team
Working Knowledge of commodities which requires an extensive understanding of manufacturing cost structure and supply base capability, prefer stamping and welded assemblies' commodities
Support forward and current model programs and participate in negotiations with To4 and suppliers
Support teardowns, benchmark standard methodologies, and identify material cost reduction opportunities
- Lead group of technical estimators to drive lower costs and improved quality of estimates
- Participate in management reviews and present cost estimating perspective supported by data and analysis
- Develop team's skills and work developing talent gap and roadmaps to improve the team
- Visit suppliers to benchmark manufacturing processes and improve quality of estimates
- Strong leadership
- Ability to work on multiple projects and programs
- Leader with integrity, ownership, pro-active, solution-oriented leader
- Leader that is willing to present facts and analysis even when not supported by others
- Skills in putting presentations and ability to communicate in effective manner
- Experience in costing and manufacturing processes- preferred Stamping and Welding assemblies
- Ability to understand complex design and develop manufacturing value for the design at hand
