Why Join Ford of Mexico?

Celebrating over 100 years of legacy in Mexico, we are more than just a business we are a vibrant, collaborative community of over 14,000 innovators shaping the global future of transportation. At Ford, we build what matters, grow where it counts, and drive progress with heart. Whether you are collaborating at our state-of-the-art Global Technology and Business Center (GTBC) or manufacturing iconic, award-winning vehicles in our world-class plants, you will find a culture evolving together, built on trust, passion, and shared purpose. Here, your work moves people forward, and your growth is personal. Join us, and let’s build what’s next together.

In this position...

The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.

Brake calipers are one of the most safety-critical and high-value components in any vehicle — and the person in this role will own the commercial strategy that brings them to life. As a Strategic Sourcing Buyer for Brake Calipers, you'll lead high-stakes negotiations, shape long-term supplier partnerships, and directly influence how Ford balances cost, quality, and innovation as the industry shifts toward electric vehicles. This is a strategic, high-visibility role with the autonomy to negotiate major global contracts and shape our future supplier network — giving you the space to focus on big-picture commercial value creation rather than day-to-day plant operations.

What you'll do...

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing — from Request for Quote (RFQ) issuance through contract award — for brake calipers across global vehicle programs, aligning supplier strategy with the industry's shift toward electric vehicles.

  • Drive commercial negotiations on piece price, tooling costs, engineering design changes, and annual cost-reduction targets with global suppliers.

  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts, including long-term agreements and capacity commitments, and resolve commercial disputes or claims as they arise.

  • Identify and capture cost-saving opportunities by applying should-cost modeling, product teardown analysis, and market intelligence (e.g., raw material price trends) during negotiations.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and other Purchasing colleagues to ensure technical designs meet both cost targets and manufacturing feasibility.

  • Build and present sourcing recommendations, business cases, and financial analyses to purchasing leadership for executive approval.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive purchasing, strategic sourcing, or commercial contract management.

    • Direct experience sourcing brake calipers, braking systems, or other high-precision chassis components.

    • Demonstrated experience leading complex commercial negotiations and managing supplier contracts.

    • Strong financial acumen, with experience building business cases or analyzing cost and tooling breakdowns.

    • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering.

    • Solid understanding of automotive supplier cost structures (materials, labor, overhead, and manufacturing processes such as casting and machining).

    • Ability to translate complex financial and commodity data into clear, actionable sourcing strategies for leadership.Top of FormBottom of Form
