As an integral member of the Ford of Canada HR team, the Senior Associate, HR Business Partner, collaborates with business units to implement impactful people and culture programs. Serving as a strategic bridge between departmental leaders and specialized HR functions, this position combines data-driven insights, operational excellence, and proactive employee relations support to foster a high-performing and compliant workplace culture. Key focus areas include tracking talent metrics, partnering with Talent Acquisition, resolving employee concerns, and ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Business Partnering & Advisory Support
- Partner with department heads and business managers to provide research, gather information, and deliver analytical insights that support strategic people and culture decisions.
- Facilitate regional and functional communication regarding updates to HR programs, policies, and benefit offerings.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support key talent initiatives, including hiring, performance management, rewards, and offboarding.
Employee Lifecycle & Experience
- Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding and induction experience for all incoming employees and contingent workers.
- Manage the offboarding process, including coordinating and arranging exit interviews to capture actionable feedback.
- Support talent development by assisting HR leadership in preparing for training sessions, career advancement programs, and succession planning initiatives.
- Promote employee engagement by planning and organizing wellness programs, recreation activities, health checks, and annual company-wide events.
HR Operations & Administration
- Own administrative workflows for employee transactions, including completing onboarding documentation, processing change-of-status forms, and coordinating background checks.
- Provide cross-functional support to specialized HR teams (Recruitment, Benefits, Leaves, and Training) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with associates and management across all levels of the organization.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze key HR metrics, such as employee engagement, satisfaction, absenteeism, and turnover/attrition rates.
- Prepare and compile data for monthly and quarterly Corporate HR Dashboard reports, ensuring high data integrity.
- Interpret standard HR practices and methods, identify data inconsistencies, and proactively resolve or escalate complex issues.
Compliance & Employee Relations
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of labor laws, local Employment Acts, and company policies to ensure all HR activities remain strictly compliant.
- Assist in employee relations investigations and support the resolution of sensitive employee matters in a highly confidential and professional manner.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- University Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or related field of study (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
- 3+ years HR Business Partner or relevant experience
Our preferred requirements:
- Master's degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations
- CHRP designation is considered an asset
- Proven Organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Proven data analytics skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) including advanced acumen in Excel
- Experience providing HR Business Partner support to large employee teams (100+)
- Previous talent acquisition experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
This posting is for an existing vacancy within our team.
The expected annual salary range for this position is $74,000 - $124,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
