Overview
At Ford, you’ll work on ideas that matter, alongside passionate people who want to make a global impact. Together, we’re shaping the next era of transportation—grounded in purpose, driven by progress. Make your move.
- Job Type: Full time
- Work Type: On-site
We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?
As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.
In this role you will…
Drive electrical launch readiness and quality at the plant by managing test systems, resolving first-run and repair issues, and serving as the key liaison between the plant floor and launch engineering teams to ensure new models launch on time, on cost, and at target quality.
What you'll do…
- Monitor first-run issues at QLS control points and chart results from internal inspection systems (CBT, EOL, etc.); maintain a matrix tracking issues through resolution.
- Champion the use of repair data to identify and resolve test-failure root causes; monitor repairs and escalate recurring issues to management and group leaders for resolution at the source (operator, vendor, process).
- Submit vehicle repair data to the plant information system and generate daily shift reports.
- Participate in Electrical VRT and daily Whiteboard reviews, sharing data on top internal (QLS, FCPA, test results, M10 drives) and external indicators; drive resolution toward In-Station Process Control, Error Proofing, and improved Process Capability, correlating external findings with internal controls.
- Support other VRTs (Powertrain, Handles/Locks/Mechanisms, Exterior Ornamentation, Chassis) with test system implementation and results (e.g., CBT window/seat function tests, EOL brake force tests).
- Assist repair personnel with difficult-to-diagnose new- and current-model vehicles.
- Attend daily launch "hard rocks" meetings; co-lead daily EOL issue meetings through MP1, then lead them from MP2 through Job Last.
- Serve as single point of contact for the launch electrical engineering team.
- Assess EOL workforce capability using the "PJO & Deep Knowledge" evaluation process; maintain the EOL Electrical Repair Capability Matrix, identifying gaps and recommending training solutions to the EOL Process Coach.
- Ensure the latest electrical diagnostic documentation, equipment, and tools are available and up to date for all repair personnel.
- Lead test system activities in the plant, including EOL, CBT, IPF, and TPMS; monitor CBT performance and calibration limits based on VRT input and internal/external indicators.
- Coordinate loading of the latest calibrations at EOL test equipment and mobilize internal plant resources (IT, maintenance, production) to resolve test issues.
- Report software issues to VO FAE per established escalation procedures.
You'll have…
Education:
- High School Diploma
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years technician/foreman experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills working with individuals of diverse cultural, academic, and cognitive backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong, effective communication skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor repairmen effectively.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with flexible scheduling.
Even better, you'll have…
- Senior Ford Master Certification desired.
- Minimum of 10 years dealership senior-level technician/foreman experience desired.
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Demonstrated leadership in ONE FORD behaviors, combined with outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
