What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Plan, coordinate, and drive Ford Production System and Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives to optimize safety, quality, productivity, and Jobs Per Hour, while actively managing the Employee Suggestion Scheme and Zone/Section performance.
• Apply engineering principles, analytical methods, and Six Sigma tools to establish, document, and continuously improve manufacturing, machining, and assembly line processes, layouts, and tooling.
• Lead quality investigation action plans, control critical production inputs, manage Dimensional Control Plans and capability studies, and draft detailed process and instruction sheets to drive variability reduction and secure First Time Through quality targets.
• Support daily production meetings and the Maintenance Operating System to resolve line constraints, identify throughput bottlenecks, and provide robust engineering solutions to maintain consistent manufacturing flow.
• Coordinate all process and product changes using official Manage The Change and Advanced Product Quality Planning processes, which includes conducting functional trials and managing engineering changes in response to running product designs.
• Manage the specification, purchasing, quotation, vendor machine witnessing, commissioning, debugging, and Production Trial Run metrics for new equipment and model launches to meet critical program timing.
• Lead and document Capital Investment Budget projects, prepare project specifications, represent the plant in Collaborative Product Development Management Team meetings, and collaborate closely with Forward Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, and external suppliers.
• Manage the development and scheduling of prototype programs, lead the machining of prototype parts, and establish optimized processes for gauging, torque strategies, and engine testing in collaboration with suppliers.
• Perform basic supervisory administrative duties, run regular process audits to ensure discipline aligns with Vehicle Operations guidelines, and maintain compliance with all Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards.
• Utilize and document processes within required corporate systems, including the Worldwide Engineering Release System, Corporate Oversight and Release Administration, and Computer-Aided Design, while managing concerns, deviations, and Key Unifying Processes.
• Foster a collaborative, positive work environment by building team capability, delivering process-related training to production personnel, establishing strong lines of communication, and providing recognition.

You'll have... 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 

Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on shop floor engineering experience.
• 2+ years of data analysis competency using tools such as Minitab and QualityWorX, with a demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and drive conclusions.
• A minimum of a Six Sigma Green Belt certification is required.

Education: Master's Degree in Applied Science. 

Experience:

• Robust background in electrical controls and Programmable Logic Controllers is highly desirable.
  Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience applying lean manufacturing tools, specifically including 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, Visual Factory Management, and Value Stream Mapping, is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control and Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify (Design for Six Sigma) project methodologies is required.
• Practical experience with Total Quality Management and Kaizen methods, alongside hands-on knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, the Production Part Approval Process, and Design of Experiments, is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in conducting ergonomic analyses is required to ensure workplace safety and efficiency.
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills are essential to collaborate successfully and present technical findings across multidisciplinary teams.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $ 87,000.00 - $137,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.

Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
