As the Facility Manager, you are responsible for the physical performance and operational excellence of Ford’s UK Real Estate portfolio. Working as a critical partner within the Ford Land "One Team" structure, you bring the workplace strategy to life.
Your mission is to manage the Integrated Facility Management (IFM) contract, ensuring that every light, power system, and utility operates at peak efficiency. You lead the technical teams that maintain our infrastructure—from high-pressure systems to energy management—ensuring that Ford’s facilities are safe, sustainable, and optimised to enhance the employee experience. You are the bridge between high-level strategy and daily operational reality.
IFM Contract & Service Delivery
• IFM Leadership: Manage the UK Integrated Facility Management (IFM) contract, overseeing all outsourced services to ensure they meet performance standards while enhancing the workplace experience.
• Customer Experience: Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and a "customer-first" culture across all sites.
Technical Infrastructure & Maintenance
• Engineering Excellence: Lead building maintenance services, including mechanical, electrical (M&E), and civil repairs to maximize operational efficiency.
• Utility & Special Systems Management: Oversee complex site utility operations, including High-Pressure Hot Water (HPHW), compressed air, HV systems, refrigeration, and high-pressure hydraulics.
• Asset Management: Manage all facility spares, building equipment, and material supplies to ensure zero downtime for critical business operations.
Energy & Digital Systems
• BMS & Energy Leadership: Direct the Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy strategies required to support the UK portfolio, driving Ford’s sustainability and carbon-reduction goals.
• Compliance Integration: Work closely with the Ford Land Compliance Manager to ensure all facility operations remain 100% compliant with Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.
Operational & Financial Control
• Budgetary Ownership: Maintain strict control of operational budgets, delivering on financial objectives and identifying opportunities for cost reduction without sacrificing quality.
• Safe Project Delivery: Ensure all time-critical processes and facility projects are delivered professionally and, above all, safely.
Leadership & Stakeholder Interface
• Multi-Disciplinary Leadership: Manage a diverse "One Team" workforce, including salaried professionals, hourly employees, and external contractors.
• Stakeholder Diplomacy: Act as a key interface with site-wide operational management, government agencies, and Trade Unions, ensuring smooth industrial relations and operational harmony.
• Education: Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Facility Management Expertise (Essential): Prior experience in operational facility management is essential. You must demonstrate a strong track record in managing complex building infrastructure, integrated services (IFM), and technical utility systems.
• Customer Focus: A deep appreciation for service environments and a proven track record of delivering customer-centered services that prioritise the needs of the organisation and its employees.
• Business Acumen: Excellent general business acumen with a process-driven work style and the ability to think strategically about the long-term health and efficiency of the UK property portfolio.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical capabilities paired with excellent communication and presentation skills. You must have a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from site-based technical teams to senior leadership.
• Leadership Experience (Essential): Proven ability to lead and coordinate a diverse team, including salaried employees, hourly staff, and third-party contracted services, within a "One Team" framework.
The Company is committed to diversity and equality of opportunity for all and is opposed to any form of less favorable treatment or harassment on the grounds of race, religion or belief, sex, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability.
