We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life. We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more!
In this position...
Step into a high-impact leadership role as the Powertrain Supervisor for Ford Customization North America. You will lead a high-performing team of engineers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of Ford’s aftermarket performance. You will oversee the development of the iconic Ford Racing Parts portfolio, ranging from high-output calibration software and forced-induction systems to world-class crate engines and integrated power modules.
This isn't just a management position; it's a driving force behind Ford's sustained growth, increased profitability, and our commitment to exceeding customer and shareholder expectations through cutting-edge customization solutions. Seize this exciting opportunity to shape the future of Ford!
What you’ll do…
- Full Product Lifecycle Leadership: Direct the end-to-end development of FRP powertrain offerings, including concepting, design, product release, and validation.
- Performance Solutions Development: Oversee the creation of power-enhancing calibration software and complex "power adder" solutions (e.g., turbocharger and supercharger kits) that integrate seamlessly with Ford vehicle architecture.
- Crate Engine & Power Module Strategy: Oversee the engineering required to adapt production Ford powertrains into standalone "crate" solutions and integrated power modules (engine + transmission), ensuring “plug-and-play” reliability for aftermarket builders and enthusiasts.
- Driveline Integration: Ensure vehicle-level performance by developing and validating driveline component upgrades necessary to support increased horsepower and torque loads.
- Regulatory & Emissions Compliance: Manage the critical CARB (California Air Resources Board) submission process and ensure all aftermarket offerings meet necessary emissions standards and vehicle safety regulations. This includes overseeing emissions testing protocols, managing the "anti-tampering" documentation, and ensuring all performance kits are 50-state legal where applicable.
- Emissions Testing Oversight: Direct the team through key drive cycle tests (e.g. Cold Start, FTP-75, and HWFET) to ensure performance calibrations do not compromise the vehicle’s emissions footprint.
- Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS): Ensure that all aftermarket modifications, especially those involving significant power increases, maintain compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
- Functional Safety & Cybersecurity: Oversee the implementation of functional safety protocols for aftermarket software to ensure that power-enhancing calibrations include "fail-safe" modes and protect the vehicle's electronic architecture from unauthorized access.
- Durability & Validation (D&V): Define and uphold rigorous "Ford-tough" validation standards, including high-temperature testing, thermal cycling, and wide-open-throttle (WOT) durability cycles to ensure aftermarket parts meet customer expectations.
- Test Facility & Asset Management: Lead the technical coordination and scheduling into internal and 3rd-party Engine/Chassis Dyno labs. Oversee the physical build-up of prototype "test mules" and lead the logistics for off-site testing.
- Project Management: Drive the successful achievement of all engineering milestones. Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure products are delivered on time and to specification.
Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a team of specialized engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, precision, and performance.
Technical Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Ford Racing Parts as a technical subject matter expert at key industry events (e.g., SEMA, PRI, Woodward Dream Cruise). Engage with customers and professional builders to translate field feedback into future product requirements.
Cultivate and strengthen strategic partnerships and cross-functional integration between Ford Customization teams and key external stakeholders (e.g., Product Development, Program Teams, Industrial Systems, and suppliers) to optimize collaboration and accelerate delivery.
Act as a catalyst for continuous improvement, proactively evaluating and optimizing product delivery processes to maintain relevance and efficiency within a dynamic and complex business landscape.
Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication across all levels of management, with peers, and supporting personnel, fostering strong collaborative relationships and strategic stakeholder alignment.
- Hybrid Power Integration: Oversee the technical strategy for "Unlocking" hybrid systems—finding innovative ways to combine internal combustion power with electric torque to create high-performance "E-Crate" solutions and hybrid power modules that redefine the aftermarket experience.
You'll have...
Minimum Requirements:
