You should be strong enough in technical skills mentioned above with a bachelor's degree in computer science and a minimum of 6 years of experience in developing Java code for applications in production.
The job also requires strong problem-solving skills, rapid incident response and doing root cause analysis, leveraging AI where possible in SDLC along with an expertise in writing code for applications of large scale, keeping focus on performance.
Experience in fixing issues from tools like SonarQube, 42Crunch and FOSSA is a must. Having knowledge in GCP and Tekton is a nice to have.
- Solution Design & Development: Lead the design and development of dynamic, scalable microservices using Java Spring Boot and related technologies. Ensure that the API adheres to Rest Specification and performance SLO.
- User-Centric Development: Work closely with product owners, designers, and business stakeholders to capture user requirements and translate them into intuitive solutions. Engage in user feedback sessions to seek ways to improve reusability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with front-end engineers, back-end teams and other cross-functional teams to ensure that back-end architecture is aligned with business needs. Participate in technical knowledge-sharing forums to drive best practices and encourage innovation.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead the testing efforts of API to ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and accessibility. Oversee the integration of automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality releases.
- Cloud & API Integration: Integrate with UI, cloud-based services and other APIs, ensuring that applications are scalable, performant, and consumer-ready. Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud solutions to build and deploy scalable, global applications.
- Mentorship & Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership, guiding junior engineers on best practices for development, patterns, and performance optimizations. Foster a collaborative environment where team members can share knowledge and improve their skills.
- Agile & Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives. Help the team stay agile, iterate on features, and rapidly adapt to changing requirements. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development process.
- Estimation & Planning: Contribute to product estimation and planning, ensuring that features are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 –8 years of progressive experience in back-end development using Java Spring Boot with a strong emphasis on secure coding practices. Proven experience in designing and developing microservices and leading back-end teams.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Java, Relational Database [like PostgreSQL] and unit testing frameworks like JUnit and mocking frameworks. Familiarity with GCP or other cloud platforms, as well as integrating RESTful APIs into frontend applications.
- Best Practices: Deep understanding of Design Patterns is required and experience with tools like FOSSA, SonarQube, 42Crunch etc. is an advantage.
- Agile & DevOps Practices: Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes. Ability to integrate automated testing and validation in the UI development process.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team. Proven leadership abilities in guiding junior developers and sharing knowledge with peers.
