As manufacturing test engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and validating manufacturing test solutions for electronics control units and accessories of CE1, collaborating with inhouse design team and contract manufactures to deliver test procedures and solutions for best quality and efficiency.
As part of Ford’s global advanced electric vehicle team, you will be working with top talents in both Automotive and Technology community, innovating on the most inspiring ideas, products and user experiences, laying out path for the next generation EV that serves millions.
- Developing manufacturing test solutions including In-circuit test, functional circuit test, partial assembly test (PAT) and final assembly test (FAT) to enable high quality electronics manufacturing at scale.
- Collaborating closely with contract manufactures (CMs) to implement and validate the test solutions.
- Deep dive into product design, gain insights on product PCBA, IC, software and user experiences to understand the expectation on manufacturing process and quality.
- Mating the manufacturing and test lines to Ford IT facility for software security and traceability.
- Coding in LabVIEW, Python for test scripts that validate EE products, communicating with various hardware devices sensors, mechanical parts, PLCs, and vehicle over Ethernet, CAN, UDS, etc.
- Leverage automotive electronics quality and drive continuous improvements to your software and manufacturing processes.
- Lead root cause analysis for manufacturing test failures and quality issues and drive continues improvement on quality and efficiency.
- This role requires domestic and international travel to support program milestones and work with global partners.
Basic
- Bachelor's Degree in E/E Engineering, computer science or related areas.
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive or high-volume electronics manufacturing industry.
- Over 2 years of direct experience developing E/E testing solution software and hardware.
- Coding experience in at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Good experience with electronics product development and manufacturing processes.
- Capability of leading effective technical reviews on E/E and software subjects with global partners in English.
Preferred
- Master of engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or related technical field.
- Curiosity for new technologies and pursuit of engineering excellence.
- Innovative mindset to push the boundary of conventions and to embrace competitive business environment.
- Excellent English communication skills for effective collaboration with global partners.
- Willingness to travel globally.
