CAD Integration & MBOM Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated CAD Integration & MBOM Engineer to support the seamless integration of CAD, Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) data across Product Development, Manufacturing, and IT systems.

This role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy, synchronization, governance, traceability, and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT teams to enable efficient manufacturing operations and support digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, CAD integrations, BOM management processes, manufacturing data structures, and engineering change management.

CAD Integration & EBOM Management

• Monitor and support CAD-to-PLM integration processes to ensure accurate synchronization of CAD models, metadata, and BOM information.
• Maintain Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) structures and ensure alignment with engineering design requirements.
• Troubleshoot synchronization failures, duplicate objects, mapping issues, and data integrity concerns.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain synchronization rules, attribute mappings, transformation logic, and integration standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT teams to resolve integration issues and improve data flow across enterprise systems.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor integration performance and data quality.
• Support engineering release, configuration management, and engineering change processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and continuous process improvement.

MBOM Management & Manufacturing Data Governance

• Create and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) from EBOMs within Teamcenter Active Workspace and related PLM systems.
• Ensure MBOMs accurately represent manufacturing processes, product configurations, assembly sequences, and build requirements.
• Validate BOM completeness, attribute accuracy, and manufacturing readiness.
• Maintain MBOM integrity and support downstream manufacturing applications.
• Analyze and resolve discrepancies between EBOM and MBOM structures.
• Support Software BOMs, Service BOMs, bulk materials, and associated manufacturing content.
• Ensure compliance with BOM governance standards, documentation requirements, and audit controls.
• Support Engineering Change Management activities, including impact assessments, implementation, and validation of BOM updates.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT teams to maintain accurate manufacturing data.
• Drive standardization, automation, and best practices for MBOM management.

• Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-8 years of experience in CAD Integration, PLM, BOM Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM).
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter, Active Workspace (AWC), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, and BOM management processes.
• Experience managing CAD data, assemblies, drawings, metadata, and BOM synchronization activities.
• Knowledge of one or more CAD tools:

  • Autodesk Inventor
• Familiarity with CAD exchange formats including JT, STEP, Parasolid, and CATPart.
• Understanding of configuration management, engineering release processes, part numbering strategies, and data governance principles.
