The role of Test and Product Engineering Resident Specialist involves working locally with our Build-to-Print suppliers of our electronic control units as the product and test system expert, focusing on knowledge transfer and product development investigations of complex test system and product issues during manufacturing.

  • Drive the suppliers bring up, validation, and stabilization of module manufacturing test and programming processes

  • Solve complex issues which require a detailed understanding of product and test system design

  • Review warranty and quality issues driving the supplier to root cause and corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence

  • Support sustaining of in-life module production 

    • Yield and quality attainment by the supplier

    • Bringing up new production sites for additional capacity

    • Support identification and resolution of part changes/substations impact on factory processes

  • Drive improvements to the design of the test systems based on feedback

  • Provide training, mentoring and technical support to the suppliers on the modules and test systems

  • Travel to suppliers’ factories as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study

  • 10+ years of Manufacturing Test Development and/or Product Engineering Experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing facility

  • 2-3 years’ experience developing with TestStand.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience defining and implementing manufacturing test requirements for electronics devices

  • Detailed understanding of Test System Design

  • Experience with 5D/8D and various RCCA methods

  • Excellent hardware and software debugging skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Detailed understanding of various technologies such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, Audio, Displays and Cameras, Cellular/WiFi/BT RF

  • Experience with Boundary Scan/JTAG

  • Knowledge of chip programming and software download into electronic modules

  • Knowledge of SMT Processes

  • Experience working with Qualcomm tools

  • Experience with Jira

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
