In this position...
We are seeking an experienced network planner, with specialized knowledge pertaining to application delivery controllers (Load Balancers). Preference will be given to applicants with F5 Big-IP experience and/or certifications in LTM, GTM, and general network engineering knowledge. This is a project oriented role requiring strong communication and people skills blended with technical engineering prowess.

What you’ll do...

  • Bring leadership to all network automation developers and other service teams needing to supply to or demonstrate that automation.
  • Provide engineering, planning, and provisioning of infrastructure required to facilitate the operation of our services, including that for our customers consumption as well as the servers and load balancing equipment we use to provide our own application services with.
  • Assist and maintain load balancing deployments using IaC (Infrastructure as Code) methodologies to maintain consistent and auditable records of said deployments.
  • Provide detailed planning, tracking, and lifecycle management of complex load balancing environments, in varied locations across the globe, supporting mixed network topologies and handling coordination with local and remote teams.
  • Whole datacenter migrations of thousands of applications.
  • Idempotent deployments of net-new applications in bulk or scripted requests.
  • Mass migration of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) deployments of AS3 declarations between load balancers to facilitate evergreen movement of load balancing equipment.
  • Staged and automated roll-out of upgraded operating system or patches for load balancing equipment.
  • Provide periodic audit and analysis of application deployment data.
  • Be a champion for financial audit, compliance, and tracking of key assets through from procurement to installation and ultimately decommission; assist in device lifecycle management
  • Plan and execute on swift but complex migrations of application traffic in varying manufacturing network topologies

You'll Have....

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and/or some relevant college with combined equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of practical operating experience with F5 BigIP products (load balancers).
  • 1+ years of experience with Node.js, at least cursory experience as a software developer
  • 4+ years of experience working with F5 AS3 (Application Services 3 Extension).


Even bettr, you may have...

  • F5, Cisco (CCNA+), and industry certifications or specialized training
  • Experience working with API gateways, NGINX or NGINX-plus preferred.
  • Agile and Project management tooling experience (JIRA is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in large scale enterprise datacenter fabrics using SDN (Software Defined Networking).
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Understanding of the building blocks of computer networks.
  • Previous experience with infrastructure automation.
  • Ability to gather customer requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Strong problem solving and coding skills.
  • Core understanding of Telecommunications Technologies, in particular TCP/IP networks including Security principles, Virtual Machine, Authentication technologies, NAT, DNS, Firewall, Proxy, Routing, switching, and network application technologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile practices and Design Thinking Process.
  • Comprehensive experience working in an agile development team.
  • Experience writing, tracking, and handling user stories for software development or infrastructure deployment activities.
  • High degree of self-motivation and multitasking.
  • Good knowledge about network services and application communication over internet protocols.
  • Willingness to learn and to embrace to new technologies, processes, and methods.
  • Attitude to adopt certifications in networking subject area (i.e. CCNA) would be preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of global ITSM / ITIL environment.
  • Service oriented behavior and customer focused attitude are essential.
  • Experience in aspects of project management.

    This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $99,600-$166,600. 


    Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
