Brake Cooling CFD Engineer

To have the ability to understand and analyze Fluid dynamics and be able to develop Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to describe them especially in brake components and systems. Perform Full vehicle CFD simulations to evaluate the cooling available for the brake systems.
- 4 Days On Site GTBC Ford México. (Naucalpan, México)
- Conduct Fluid dynamics, and thermal analyses to solve technical challenges of brake components and systems.
- Operate meshing software to characterize and build FEA and CFD models to perform the analysis.
- Automate processes by scripting and programing routings improving and creating efficient CFD methods.
- Optimize process and designs using Optimization software to provide the best design.
- Perform full vehicle CFD evaluations for brake components and systems.
- Offer feasible engineering solutions to design problems based on CFD and test results.
- Use CFD methods to guide new designs collaborating with Testing, D&R, and suppliers.
- Support initiatives and efforts to yield new products using GPDS (Global Product Development System) as a single common product creation process, in order to reduce time to market, engineering changes, and physical prototype builds.
- Support new programs and Cost reduction initiatives through CAE methods.
- Collaborate with physical testing engineers as well as other CAE engineers to develop and improve CAE methods needed to achieve high correlation rate between physical and virtual analysis.
- Proactive participation on validation process.
Engineering degree (Mechanical or Aeronautical desirable) or related disciplines with coursework in Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Methods. MS degree preferred.
• Work experience in the area of CFD/FEA/CAE with the Automotive Industry preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of Vehicle aerodynamics and Heat transfer physics applied to vehicle components and systems.
• Brake systems knowledge
• Engineering Knowledge of Fluid Dynamics, Heat transfer, Mechanical & Structural concepts and Analysis: Fluid Dynamic & Thermal static and transient analysis.
• Experience in Star CCM+, Fluent, ANSA, PowerFLOW , OPEN FOAM, Abaqus and/OR other commercially available CFD & FEA program.
• Advanced scripting skills using C++, Java, Python etc.
• Optimization software as modeFrontier or Heeds desirable.
• UNIX fundaments is preferred but not required.
• DMAIC/DFSS/Robustness Tools working experience desirable.
• Demonstrated initiative, drive, project management, and ownership skills.
• English proficiency.
• Written & oral communication flow skills.
• Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point).
• Able to work in a Team environment and can handle pressure.
