Main Responsibilities:
- Durability Attribute Leadership:
- Drive the global "Built Ford Tough" promise by significantly impacting quality and customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate all durability vehicle defects against our globally recognised durability Trustmark.
- Engage and collaborate with global functional teams and new model programs to ensure robust and timely resolution of durability issues.
- Report locally and globally on resolution progress and status, escalating issues as necessary to secure required assistance.
- Improve processes by being an active partner with “voice of customer” workstreams.
- Actively review warranty decks and assist where relevant.
- Lead the IMG segment of the Global Durability Scorecard Process.
- Formalise the partnership of the Durability Attribute with respect to the Dynamics and Sensitivity Attributes – finding the best trade-offs.
FARL Oversight:
- Ensure product development teams receive and correctly utilise early-level road loads, providing essential inputs for CAE teams, suppliers and system-level test centres during the design process.
- Leverage your deep understanding of FARL to guide functional teams in the appropriate application and interpretation of these critical loads.
- SARL Management:
- Oversee the SARL team responsible for measuring road loads from prototypes on durability surfaces.
- Ensure this crucial work contributes effectively to:
- Expedited durability issue resolution.
- Verification of early-level road loads generated by the FARL team.
- Enhanced understanding of vehicle-level interactions between components and systems for correlation and issue resolution.
This is an on-site position based at our Proving Ground Site in Lara, Victoria.
Qualification Demonstration – You’ll have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution, escalating only when necessary and after thorough independent efforts.
- An understanding of global durability standards and Trustmark.
- Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with global functional teams and new model programs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report progress and status both locally and globally.
- Demonstrated ability to foster strong engineering partnerships and collaborate effectively with diverse functional teams beyond immediate departmental boundaries.
- A strong commitment to improving product quality and warranty performance, aligning with the "Built Ford Tough" promise.
