In this position...

The FNV Diagnostics Cloud team is looking for a senior developer to solve challenging problems related to scalability, governance, and data enhancement for our diagnostics platform. 

The candidate will be part of the larger Diagnostics and Analytics platform team and will assume a senior role on the cloud team, working on challenging technical problems, design & strategy work, and mentorship of junior developers.

What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Working with a multi-discipline team of 10-15 software professionals.
• Optimizing the diagnostics cloud ingestion to handle more and larger data payloads.
• Help push the limits of relational databases by ingesting more data faster.
• Design and build highly functional user interfaces to enable 1000s of engineers across Ford to access diagnostics data in the best way possible.
• Design and build performant APIs to allow over 100 teams at Ford to consume diagnostics data in an automated way.
• Improve and expand our data value-enhancement capabilities such as stack trace generation, automatic Jira creation, bulk log search, and much more.
• Design and build governance capabilities to ensure that we are respecting the wishes of Ford customers in our use of diagnostics data.

You'll have... 

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field of study.
  

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development (Java, C#, or similar are preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of experience working with relational databases (such as SQL server).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in front end development (JavaScript, HTML, etc.).

Even better, you may have...

Experience

• Proficiency with Spring Boot and Java Microservices.
• Familiarity with ELK stack (Elasticsearch and Logstash in particular).
• Working knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with public clouds such as GCP, Azure, and AWS.
• Embedded development background or familiarity with GDB.
• Skilled in Python.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $105,000.00 - $155,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
